The 55-02 has had my favorite neck for a while, but my MTD Kingston's neck is blowing me away! Both are 19mm, but the MTD seems extra wide and comfortable. I like it so much that I have my eye on more MTDs.

The neck on my Fodera Monarch Yin Yang 4-string. Slightly 'thinner' than a standard Fodera neck it is amazingly fast and just DELICIOUS to play....
I like the MTD 635 neck profile well enough, but they're a bit chunky front to back for my tastes. My Jerzy Drozd six has a similar asymmetrical profile to Mike's but it's a lot slimmer without any loss of stability, probably due to its three-piece quarter-sawn construction and graphite stiffening bars. Best neck I've ever played.

I am just pleasantly surprised by the Kingston. It is clearly a budget bass, but the neck and playability is remarkable. BTW, my 55-02 is not going anywhere!

BTW, what exactly is 'budget' feeling about the Kingston? I've heard the pre isn't exactly top notch, any thoughts on the PU? The hardware?

The Kingston does not feel budget, but I can look at the tuners and see it is a less expensive bass. Also, the fact that it is basswood definitely identifies it as a budget bass.

The Lakland 5 and the MTD 5.
The Squier "wide 5" is a close second.
3-way tie between Lakland 55 series, Fodera 5 and 6 string necks, and those old Yamaha TRB5P neck-thru models that were discontinued years ago.
Ya know, I normally don't care for skinny broads, but Audrey sooo reigned. I cry like a little girl when Peck lets her go in Roman Holiday. My wife laughs at me.
On topic: For me, nothing screams PLAY ME HARD like a good wenge 4 string Warwick. Fudge.
+1 on the warwick... I really want to know some opinions on modulus necks though, and this thread may be the place to ask I think? *insert veiled question about feel of modulus necks here*
