Your Favorite Round Wound Strings for Jazz Bass ?

I recently started using XL165s on my Precision. They still seem to be pretty snappy after 3 weeks.

For my Jazz basses, I use Roto RS66s on one, and the other has Fender 7250s right now, though that's a bit of a place holder for the moment. Maybe I'll put XL165s on the next time I buy strings. Still mulling that over.

do you like the Roto RS66s? i was thinking of trying them next

DR lo-riders or Dunlop Super Bright Nickel on my fretted, DR sunbeams on my fretless.
Used DR lo-riders for years, but those super brights are amazing strings!

I switch around between D'addario pro steels to flex steels to DR HiBeams. I recently tried a set of Ernie ball cobalt strings and they're great but I can't justify the cost vs the difference. Rotosound RS66LD is what I'm currently using now.

I played so many different strings in 045-105. I enjoyed the DR Marus Miller strings quite a lot, but they started to sound bad quite quickly when played regularly.
For 2 years, I am in love with the D'Addario ProSteels now. They feel a little rough at the beginning, and sound a bit too bright, almost harsh, when freshly installed. But that is only a matter of half an hour of playing. Thereafter, they feel great, sound fantastic on my '73 Jazz Bass and last veeeeeery long!

TI Jazz rounds on my souped up Frankenjazz: Fender Japan '62 reissue body, Warmoth blocked and bound pau ferro neck, Lindy Fralin pickups, Audere pre, etc. Great punch from these strings, focussed, and lovely under the hands. Tried many other types but there's no going back.

anyone like D'addario XL170s? I've had them on my jazz awhile and they seem to go dead fairly quickly plus they don't get alot of love around here any reason for this?

My favorite string for my MusicMan Sterling. Don't own a Jazz anymore but the XL170s were my favorite string for it when I did.

Love the transparence, clarity and definition and the "soft" feel of them. And they last longer than any strings I tried so far.
