Your Look On Stage

Updated post: tonight I'm doing a gig wearing a grey suit, white dress shirt + striped black/red tie. Debating wearing a strange hat to throw people off.

I also took the pickguard off of my MusicMan so it'll have its naked debut!

Never considered it until a professional drummer friend of mine mentioned it. When he did I thought he was crazy. I finally broke down, thought I looked like a pimp, but it works for me and got alot of attention from the chicks. I wore white. Now white is part of my gig clothes selection. I wore white with this neat white and black Fedora I have. Now I'm too cool.

My look lately is sort of late 60's early 70's MC5 denim. Pretty much how I dressed as a kid!

Usually: half-zipped black leather jacket, white or black cotton undershirt, black jeans, black fingerless leather gloves, and black leather shoes.

Or if it is a bit hotter outside: white, grey, brown, pink, or black cotton dress shirt (or blue polo to match my eyes); black or grey wool dress pants; white or black cotton undershirt; black leather shoes; fingerless black leather gloves. And add an unzipped black leather jacket to the mix if I want to look sharp.

Actually I don't have a look. What I described above is what I wear each and every day.

And I need to wear the gloves whenever I go out because I have a terrible case of stress-induced eczema. Got tired of having to wear 20 waterproof bandaids a day to cover up my open wounds when I have a flare-up, so I got something to keep the mosture in my hands from escaping. Over a year eczema free now :)

I try to wear something colourful because I think when on stage, you should make some sort of visual impact on the audience. I avoid black because I don't want people to think my band is metal :)

I have these great purple shoes - they're reflective so they really catch the lights.

Purple and lacy :)

Great look!! Can you explain the hair? I know about your band so you don't have to explain that part, but what are those thick things in your hair?? They look like bungee cords!!

And that purple bird is insane!! I love it!!

EDIT: I did some searching and found out that they are "dread falls". I'm gonna take the plunge and add a few to my hair after I dye it next. Thanks for influencing my hairstyle!!

I've actually been informed by the BL in my new band that there is a mandatory "uniform" on stage. Not too keen on it, but since I always wear all black, it shouldn't be too hard. The colors are black and red. I just have a REAL problem with being told what I HAVE to wear.

Sounds like a good look if your in really good physical shape.

Blue

Ghehe, my drummer wanted to do something like the style of KISS. Not really the clothings, more the painting on the face and something with our hairs. I didn't like the idea and just tried to put my own idea together : Keeping it quite simple, but still keeping it matching for our metal music :p
