Just read an article saying L.A's payroll could get to $230M next year and foreseeably hit $300M by 2020.
Wow.
Big payrolls do not equal championships. Sometimes it works but I've seen too many awesome Yankee and Red Sox lineups fail miserably in the post season. It has everything to do with the chemistry of the team and getting hot at the right time. In other words, it's luck with some good line up changes and a strong pitching staff. IMO, IME, YMMV.
