Your Most Expensive Bass?

Most I ever spent was £500 on a used Wal back in 89,sadly no longer with me, a JG Custom leather pickguard model
one of the 1st 46 Wals built Ouch.
In last 10 years most expensive bought was a 78 T-40 shipped over from the US,all in about £440 or $600.
Drop in the ocean though as I own more than one bass.

I just wandered through the local vintage guitar shop, and they have an early '50s Les Paul for something north of $30K and a couple Strats for more than $20K each. I could make any of 'em sound like a low end guitar. That's negative talent. I got it, baby!
Carvin LB75W with coil split + piezo, and J/MM pickups if you are going off new price, but I got it used in a trade for an amp. New it would have been like 1800 dollars with the options on it.
Fender MIA Jazz bass in lake placid blue, maple fretboard if you are going off what I actually paid. I bought it new in '99 for somewhere around 1200. I don't remember the price exactly but I remember I got a deal because I also bought a Bassman 100 amp at the same time. That was my very first upgraded setup after I used my starting gear for a couple years. I traded in the starting gear and still have the Bassman and Jazz bass to this day, so it was an excellent investment.
I haven't bought anything that expensive since then. I just haven't needed to because I target used or mid-range instruments. Mid-range offerings today are so much better than they used to be.

My most expensive is the Warwick. The one that is probably worth the most is my Eshenbaugh 5-string though, but I got it for a good deal. Funny story, the Eshenbaugh was actually purchased for me by my ex-wife, the Xmas before she cheated on me and then divorced me. She always gave me crap about my guitar hobby, and then decided she wanted to buy me one. I truly will never understand her. I don't think she even understands herself. Don't get me wrong, it was the best gift anyone has ever gotten me, and I was truly stunned she did it, but she held it against me later, and that really makes absolutely no sense to me *smh*
Ibanez fiver, oh baby $300.00, and My Squier five $179.00 can't forget my two SX fours, one P and one J .

Whoa now! I think most TBers would agree with me that basses are much more fun to play than purses!
That's like 188.73 dollars today if we use 1965 dollars adjusted for inflation. Still a bargain, how often can you find a MIA bass for less than 600?

I also have a sunburst Geddy Lee Jazz, which I got last July for $900, plus a case for $120, so that's my most expensive as well.
Most expensive:
1981 4080
Paid $3362 US which with the exchange at the time (2005), shipping, etc turned into $4900 Canadian.
The wife was actually on board for this (never would have happened otherwise).
It's a great bass, wicked fast neck, and the guitar is very versatile.
