Seriously though, it's just science being brought to bear with art, which means it's subjective as all hell. Win or fail, I'm glad people are trying something new. If you think "just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done", think of all the innovations we'd never have come up with during the Industrial Era on up through the Nuclear/Space Age if that was the prevailing mind-set.

This is an experiment. Maybe (and in my opinion, "not really") the best application of the science at hand, but someone had an idea, ran with it and brought it to life. So on that note, I say, "Good on them! But talk to me when it's more affordable and in a different style."

That "steampunk" Telecaster guitar (with rotating gears inside) is awesome...
It will be really interesting when someone prints 3d truss based neck. Besides "looks" are very important - it's not a coincidence that many woods used in instruments are visually attractive.
