Where did you get the cypress blank?
My local lumber store. I put it through the jointer (router table set up as a jointer) and glued it up.

Immediately reminds me of Carvin's AC bass bodies (which I like).

I'd say you nailed it! Classic looks without being a copy.I've been trying to come up with something that looked classic, but wasn't just a straight fender copy. This body shape is what I have come up with. This is just a rough cut in cypress wood, no real work has been done to it yet except some routing. And yes, I purposefully slanted the jazz bass pickups like that...it helps even out the string to string tone. No contouring or anything has been done yet either.
Anyway, what are your thoughts about that this body shape?
