Your pick for best PJ under $1000

I”m looking for recommendations on a good all around PJ but don’t want to go over 1000 dollars. I really like the sounds I can get from a PJ pickup configuration. I also would like a thinner, Jazz-like neck profile and 4 strings. which one is the best in this price range?

I'd recommend 2 that cost way less of your 1K, an '80s Ibanez RB-650 or similar family, and the Peavey Zodiac BXP of which mine sports a pair of EMG HZs. both necks are slim with the BXP being the most narrow of any bass I've tried, and it gives a great vintage (IME) sound off either PU. these are each so inexpensive that if you weren't satisfied you can give it away to some deserving kid without taking much of a hit, but I'd bet you'd like'm as I do. good luck with your quest.

I’m no expert but I really like my Retrovibe by Chowny Volante P/J

2Vol/2Ton and a Series switch which adds some real ‘ooomph’. Passive

P/J, slim neck, won’t break the bank? Sounds like Ibanez all the way. Lower end models may need a p’up and electronics swap but they cost a lot less than your $1K limit and more importantly they can be found literally everywhere. I see a lot of good recommendations above but a lot of them are not easy to find these days.
