Your prettiest bass

Sometimes plain and simple does it for me.

When I owned it, I called my Ric 4003 in Montezuma Brown my ugly duckling. I really did like how it looked but it's an acquired taste.
My vote for prettiest, and I'm a traditional guy, is my Gibson SG. The finish looks mint and it's so much fun to play too.
I really like my tobacco burst Epi T-Bird too but the SG is prettiest to me.

Wow! I can't see how ANYBODY would think the Montezuma Brown Rics were "ugly ducklings"! :D I had one for awhile but sold it (like the Fireburst one I had before that).

While the name of the color conjures up negative images , I thought the Montezuma Brown 4003 was one of the most beautiful basses I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of basses over the years. I've just never been able to cozy up to Rics from a comfort standpoint. Always preferred my Fenders (and Fender-like) basses. But sometimes I wish I'd kept that M.B. Ric if for no other reason than to LOOK at it!! :D

I’ve read the same “ugly” comments about walnut Rickenbackers, but I think they’re beautiful.
