your progression on amps

1. Traynor 50w tube head into a Traynor 2x15 cab
2. Peavey TNT130 130w combo w/15" speaker
3. Fender BXR200 200w combo w/15" speaker
4. Hartke HA3000 300w head into Avatar 2x10, 1x15 cabs
5. Hartke HA5500 500w head into Avatar 2x10, 1x12 cabs

Also owned Peavey MicroBass 20w combo 8"
Pignose Hog30 30w battery powered combo 8"
SWR LA-12 60w combo 12"

Just wanted to say, although I am trying some new stuff, Peavey is absolutely awsome when it comes to durability. I've owned a Peavey bass, two Peavey cabs, the Combo 300, and I still use the Peavey 50w combo to play clubs on occassion. They have all been beaten, rained on, kicked, burned, punched--you name it--and they still played. In fact, I just (after YEARS) ripped the speaker in my Peavey cab and am looking for 2 smaller cabs to go with my GK 800RB. Hmmm, maybe I will look into something else by them.

1. Laney 4x10 combo at school
2. my first own amp: SWR WM 15
3. 115/410 Hughes&Kettner Basskick, Hartke 3500
4. GK 700RB instead of the Hartke (fallen in love with GK sound there)
5. swapped teh cabs for a single Mesa 210 (EV-speakers). that cab was louder than the two H&K, punchier and everything
6. sold everything except the WM15
7. now selling the WM15
8. buying some tiny combo for small gigs and double bass

1. Sunn Guitar head into Fender Bandmaster with 2 12" EV's
2. Sunn Combo with a 15" speaker
3. Peavey TNT
4. Cut the head off of the Sunn combo and powered it with
a Hartke 2000. Swapped out Sunn speaker for 15" EV.
5. Eden WT-400 into a CXC 2-10 add the Sunn 15" for larger
jobs.
6. Eden WT-400 into a Schroeder 1212
7. Eden WT-550 into a Schroeder 1212 add CXC 2-10 for
larger jobs. WT-550 is on order should be delivered next
week.

Sold the Sunn guitar head and the Peavey TNT, still have the rest all in working order.

Kustom KMA 65 -sold to me from a local music store as a naive beginner, even though I specified a Bass amp. Not a bad amp, but I asked for a Bass Amp, for crying out loud. Way to take advantage of an uninformed buyer.

-Ampeg SVT-CL + 810E -Bought from the same store, only I knew what I was doing this time. Bought the whole package for $1000. Just sold the Classic on Tuesday. I never used it, but bought it because I had the money and hoped to make some profit.

-Ampeg B100R -Most recent addition, bought right here on TB. I'm not too happy with the tone when soloed, but Holy Carp, Batman! Put this thing in any sort of band contex, and it's quite the tonal monster. My main gig is at church between a grand piano and an acoustic guitar, and boy does this amp shine in that sort of trio. [/rambling]

I haven't posted on here in a while, and this looks like fun, so here goes the last 19 years of bass amps for me...

Peavey TKO65
Peavey TKO65 (I then had two!)
Peavey TNT 135 (was this one really a step up?)
Sunn--a pawn shop special--started with head/cabs
Ampeg SVT-200 -new w/810 cab-shoulda stopped right here!
Ampeg SVT-400TH switched to biamp cabs as was the fad
Mesa Boogie 400+(probably woulda been fine if I had re-tubed)
SWR (can't remember model but it was red @ 400w)
Ampeg SVT-III Pro --still have this one too. a workhorse.
Eden WT-800 --sold Ampeg cabs and bought 2 x 410XLT as Mars went belly up--thought this would be the end, but...
Ashdown ABM Entwhistle Pre (1 of 100 made--couldn't resist)

not sure I'll remember everything... nearly 20 years of so-so gear.

-Gorrilla 15 watt bass combo (1986, came with the bass)
-Peavey Minx 110 (since the gorrilla craped out early, 1987-90)
-Peavey Basic 60 (late 80's/early 90's)
-Peavey KB100 (boarding school/college dormroom practice amp, 90-94)
-Fender BXR600/BXR410/BXR115 (first big rig 1992-4, sold it for a single 15 combo\/)
-SWR WM15 (my 'city combo', around '94-'01, really broke gigging time for me...)

Easy one...

1995: Fender BX50R (50W 8" woofer)
2000: Eden Nemesis NC-212P Combo (250W 2-12")

...and I've actually played a fair amount every year since 95. Until 2000 I just played through the Fender or church's monitor system. Since getting the Nemesis, I've needed nothing else. Basses.... now that's a different story. Gone through around 20 in the past ten years. :smug:

I'm an old fart so I've been through a few.
When I was a kid ,I'd hook my guitar cord to wires that run to the needle on my record player. ( poor and desperate)

First real amp was a 100 watt Marshall stack.
Sounded like cr@p-distorted
