ZOMBIE ALERT!!!

Gorilla combo + 15" EV cab > Ampeg SVT II Pro + 810e > *current* Fender Bassman 400 > *current* GK 1001 RB-II + SWR Workingman's Tower 8x10 > (Feb 1st) Peavey 400 + 2x15.

That's it after 28 years! Although, amp GAS has been kicking in really hard lately.

7 - Ashdown MK500 w two MAG410T cabs (shredding rig!!)

8 - Markbass LittleMark II with two 112 Traveller cabs (got tired of heavy gear and this was a great rig

current rig

ZOMBIE ALERT!!!

:D

I forget what I originally posted, so I'll play again. :ninja:

1976: Ampeg B-100 1x10 practice amp
1977: Acoustic 150 head, Acoustic 301 folded 18"
1979: Acoustic 360/361
1980: Round light SVT head, 8x10 coffin (with dolly)
1982: Newer SVT head and 8x10 fridge... newer was not better. :(
1984? Switched to rack rigs. Waaaay too much gear to list, but my longest running preamp was an Alembic F-2B so props there

Today: Rack rig featuring SansAmp preamps (RBI, RPM, &/or VTRM), or Reiner Amplification (JGR) all-tube preamp. For over a decade I've used Bergantino cabs: currently, either a single NV610, a pair of HS210, or a single NV115.

WAY back there (because I knew totally NOTHING about bass equipment) I first got a Gregory POS head/cab.
Fried the speaker.
Got a (pre-CBS) Fender Bassman head 2nd hand and a friend built me a custom cab in shop into which we put two JBL D-140F (I later scored two JBL cabs -- very large studio monitor enclosures for a 15 and a horn tweeter into which I put the D-140Fs).
Sold all that before I moved to TN for awhile.
Bought a Nemesis NC-210P combo.
About two years later I bought my current Dem 201S, QSC PLX 1602 rack rig and a Bergantino HT322.
About a year later traded the Berg in on a Schroeder 410.
That's it (so far...).

I love the tone I get with this system.

Since the last rig, I sold the Schroeder 410 & did a trade deal on the Demeter + QSC; got an EA CX-310 & an EA iAmp-600.
I still have those (but the iAmp needs some work) & also procured a Yamaha PB-1 preamp & Yamaha CP2000.
Both of these systems sound fabulous.
The iAmp is more transparent sounding, while the Yamie's sound warmer & rounder; both systems have a lot of punch to them with the Yamie having more power as I run the power amp in bridge-mode (1400W into 8 ohm).

Started with

H and H - huge combo with neon lights like an expensive trace... Sounded crap though :)
Peavey TNT 150
Trace Elliot 130w combo Gp7 15"

Trace Elliot gp12 4x10 combo
Trace Elliot gp12 4x10 combo with peavey 2x 18 cab

Now, ashdown perfect 10. Hahaha brilliant

Kustom Bass I
Acoustic 126
Acoustic 320B/Peavy 410/unknown sugar scoop
Acoustic 370/408
Acoustic 360/361
traded the 370 for a 320 head
Acoustic USA 360/361m

I have played through some other amps over the years, but never felt like buying anything else.

I started with a little combo , can't remember the name.
Then
Ashly SC-40 + Bryston 4B
Alembic F1-X + Bryston 4B
driving Hartke 410's
Tried loads of JBL's and other passive PA boxes

Then around 1998 , I started using active PA boxes
RCF ART 300
Mackie SRM450
RCF ART310a
RCF ART902as

Now my kit is:
Roland VB-99
L'Acoustic 108p top
RCF 902as sub

Just counting the ones I owned for more than a couple weeks and not including long term rentals.

Traynor BassMate 10
Peavey TKO 115
Fender Bassman 100
Ampeg BA210 300w
Eden Nemesis 300w/MarkBass 610 HQ (Silverface)
Ampeg SVT-6 Pro/Same cab
Ampeg SVT-CL/Same cab, then an Epifani UL2 310, then a MarkBass 410HF

Ashdown LB30 in there somewhere, plus a Fender Bass 300
MarkBass SD800 (still)/fEARful 1212/6 at practice/shows and Epifani at home

Still have both the Epifani and MarkBass cabs, actually they are both being powered by a 2000w Carvin power amp, it is a little big for a practice rig in my duplex.

Bassman 50 => Traynor YCV212
--Blueline SVT => Traynor YCV212
----Blueline SVT => Ampeg 810 Fridge

-----Ampeg B15N (Because I needed something smaller)
--------EBS Drome

------------EBS HD350 => EBS Neo 212 (Because I loved the Drome)

For me, buying gear hasn't been a constant search to find what I want. Its more that my tastes change or I get bored and want to try something different.
Over the years, I have owned more than a dozen MIA Fender Precision and Jazz basses. I have also owned Washburn, Schechter, Ibanez, Spector, Alembic and Carvin basses.

For amps and cabs I have owned in no particular order:
Peavey Combo
Fender Combo
GK 400RB
GK 800RB
GK 1001RB-II
GK 410RBH Cab
GK1115RBH Cab
1971 Ampeg SVT Head and cab
1978 Ampeg SVT Head and cab
Ampeg B2R
Ampeg SVT CL
Ampeg SVT 4 PRO
Ampeg SVT 6 PRO
Ampeg SVT 810
Ampeg SVT410HE
Amoeg SVT410HLF
Ampeg SVT210HE
Hartke H3500 Head
Hartke 410XL
Eden WT800
Eden 410XLT

Vox Super Beatle, 1969
Fender Bassman (lousy bass amp) The cabinets kept changing.
Gibson/Norlin SG (not a bad amp...plenty loud)
Carvin head, and 2X15 folded horn cabinet. Great rig, 1975
Ampeg SVT and various 2X15 bottoms, mostly EV
Peavey Mark III and Bassman (biamped, heavily modded, complicated rig)
GK1001RB
Acoustic 370 (backup head)
Ampeg PF500...close enough to my old SVT for me, into a 12/6/1 and 12 sub (not fEARful)

I'm happy with my current rig, but will replace my cabinets with fEARful when I can afford it.
