As of now, i own 0 pedals for bass myself, so i cannot answer. Thinking about buying a B3k.

+1 to an envelope filter. I'd bring an OD instead of an octaver.

There are a couple of bass-specific ones. The Boss OC-3 has separate inputs for each, and there are a few boutique pedals like the Foxrox Octron that I think are aimed at bass.

I had an OC-3 for years. Ironically, it worked much better when I plugged into the guitar input. The bass input was trying to not add the octave effect below a certain note, for probably obvious reasons. I found it to be inconsistent from bass to bass, and it's just easier to not play really low notes with the octave pedal on.

A Pog would do both right? I play both and am curious, if i were to buy one, id want one that did both.

The POG is a nice octave pedal. It offers "octave up" which everyone thinks they want until they hear it, after which some do and some don't. The "octave up" effect on an analog pedal is a clever use of overtones that creates a sort of fuzzy layer that is kind of an octave up, but that does not sound like the fundamental at all. It's not what you would get with a harmonizer or pitch shifter, for instance, which creates a simple synth wave at some interval from the input.

The POG is a good pedal, but a little expensive because of the octave up feature. Just check out the videos and make sure it's what you are looking for.

Just a note to add to the POG discussion: the Mooer Tender Octaver is a nice alternative to the POG, sounds exactly the same at a fraction of the cost. You can buy it at AliExpress.com for <$60.
