I'd take a delay/looper and a..... a...... ooo a reverb. My amp has a decent compresser octave and drive so I could do a lot with two pedals

That's easy, as I only have two pedals......a Boss TU-3 tuner and a Keeley Compressor Pro.

Like there was a desert island pedal... well, ok then, probably the Klon Centaur (the real one, original preferably gold). I could sell that one and get a first class trip off the island, in the luxury suite, or even charter my own yacht for the whole trip...not that I'd ever use it on/with a bass though.
EDIT: You said 2? Yes,ok then, two original Klon Centaurs gold paint. You said nothing about that they needed to go together. You said one bass, and two pedals. Not the precaution, or stipulation that they needed to be together with each other, pedals and bass. I've forgot all the patch cables at home anyway, so they wont plug into anything anyway.

Since I tune BEAD, the headstock tuners are worthless to me. I've never used one that can tune my B string.
One of my pedals would be the "click-here-for-endless-supply-of-food-and-drinks" which also adds considerable punch.
The other would be the "get-beamed-to-whatever-destination-worldwide" which is famous for its very quick response.

Volume and delay (I have an Ibanez DE7 but any decent delay would do). Set the delay time to about 250 milliseconds, with fairly high "repeat" level, and volume swells turn into beautiful synth-y string chords. I rarely play with any effects, but that's a trick I like using once in a while.
I'd bring my active Ibanez (assuming a big supply of 9V batteries) and my Tone Hammer 500 / TC Electronic RS210 rig, which sounds great on normal settings and can dial in some nice grit without an overdrive or distortion pedal.

An overdrive and a chorus. Right now I'm using a Boss OC-3 for drive and a Digitech XBC for my chorus. I need a true overdrive pedal at some point but for now it works.

if you don't like/want dirt.... then i'd vote Reverb.
