Check your battery. I think earlier in this thread that issue was discussed, check it out.

My brain has associated the word "fretless" with the image of a lined, fretless 5 Zon. I don't know why, when, or how, but there you have it.

Specifically, I think of one with a plain ash body, or subdued maple top (natural finish, either way) and black hardware.

Weird, huh?

You mean like this? (in other words, me too!)... :D

Might try email right now to [email protected], as the shop will be closed next week.
BUT... if they don't respond, DO NOT get upset... they're a small and very busy shop, and are sometimes slow to email. Just call if they don't get back to you quick enough.

I've never had trouble getting them to respond to an email- they're usually pretty good about it. I gave that, though, because nobody will be answering phones there next week! They check their email on the weekends, even. I've been responded to at midnight on saturday before!

Edit: Poor grammar.

+1

FWIW, I've just seen a few posts by folks that sent email, they didn't get back to them fast enough (what that means may depend on the individual, as well... I've also not had any big problems), and posted nasty comments. Just an FYI.

Interesting timing.

I need to send my Sonus 5/2 in to have the preamp / pickup looked at. Mark said to send it in after the holiday. I assumed that was after Christmas but now I'm thinking it could be after New Years.

I just sent them an e-mail Let's see what they say.

I'm pretty sure you're right about it being after new year's. I'd be shocked if I found out they were working next week.

I know it was weird to me too at first. I don't do it too often. You can usually tell when it starts to look grey like that. The WD40 will make it nice and black again. Plus you'll see the dirt on the rag. Just a small drop on a rag and work it in. Then wipe off the excess with a clean one. I don't know if it matters too much how often/when you do it. It's not like oiling wood which needs to be reconditioned all the time since it's drying. On the Zon it's just a matter of cleaning really.

Strange. My fingerboard was gray from day one (brand new bass). Are you saying the WD40 just turns the board black?
