Zoom B1Xon Settings Thread...... OMG

Got one of these bad boys on order - can you switch between effects using pedal only with preselect on and looper? (can you toggle between looper screen and effect screen without having to press a button?)

No, the looper is a whole other "section" in the software, and the only way to switch between functional sections is through the buttons.

I wonder if someone ever built a foot-switch thing to push buttons remotely (similar to shutter release cables for older cameras)... The B1Xon buttons feel strong enough to be pushed mechanically with moderate force.

Ha, that's interesting. I think you may come out ahead both functionally and financially if you just buy a second B1Xon, using the effects on one and the looper on the other.

There's a wired mod on youtube to add a couple foot buttons to that to do exactly what you want. Not for the faint of heart ;) :

I saw that earlier. Shame, seems to be the only downside to this pedal. I haven't touched a soldering iron since school. I'm in my 40s now! No way I'm digging into the back of it blind. Be neat to combine the two mods tho.
Actually I see now he used a TRS jack for the mod so it could be done neatly. Problem is it's only a $50 pedal and the mod would probably add $100 to it if done by a tech :( . I'm still amazed at how much you get for $50 in the B1on :wideyed:.

I received a B1on yesterday for my birthday. I played with it a bit at practice last night and it sounded really good. I wanted one to facilitate practicing without an amp and only using headphones and still being able to patch music through it to practice along with.

I went through all of the effects last night and picked out several I really liked. Today I went through it again and picked out several more that I liked. Now to figure out how it sounds at church and find the best ones for playing with.

I certainly am having fun with it.

So I have spent the day with this pedal and really like it. But I have found that the patches I like are scattered throughout it. So I made a text document with all of the patch information so that I can edit it as I move the patches around into the order I like and still know where everything is as I won't be able to refer to the list in the manual anymore.

I am uploading them here in case anyone else can use it. There are separate ones for the B1Xon and the B1on as the patch lists are slightly different.

Quick question on the Zoom B1on - do you all find that the aux in plays mp3s from an iPod loud enough for headphone practice? I'm thinking of picking up a B1on strictly for silent practice when I'm out of town. Reading the user manual reveals that you can adjust the overall level on the unit but there is no separate volume control for the aux in. Sometimes I find that the volume level on an iPod is a bit too low for me on certain selections, even with its volume maxed. As a result, I'm also considering a new Korg Pandora Stomp or a used Cafe Walter, which both provide volume control for aux input. However, both cost quite a bit more than the B1on. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated-thanks!
