are you familiar with multi fx?Oh I have already. I was wondering more about effects design in general. There must be some general rules to it right?

There are threads here and elsewhere where people post photos of their (real) pedalboards. And there are YouTube videos of prominent players showing off their boards. Scanning through that stuff gave me a sense of what people tend to do in terms of selecting effects and putting them in an order that pleases them. General rule: compressor first, then fuzz, then phase and/or flanger and/or chorus, then amp/cab. More important rule: if it sounds good then it's right, regardless of the general rule.Oh I have already. I was wondering more about effects design in general. Well, i set compressor as first, than EQ and after that anything alse - OD, Fuzz and other stuff. I dont like amp models in Zoom, so i dont use itOh I have already. I was wondering more about effects design in general. There must be some general rules to it right?
Find a preset you like, go into the screen and turn on/off each module..listen to what they do. This thing can be as simple or as deep as you want it to be, so maybe an easy goal would be first. What does the SVT amp sim sound like? just that could take you a while. Then add an easy effect. Sorry if this is simplistic, but as you'll see, it gets over the top deep pretty quickly. There are threads here and elsewhere where people post photos of their (real) pedalboards. This doesn't work for you? When these things came out I could not figure out why, with the usb port (that I use to power mine with my samsung phone charger..mof , both of them) ZOOM didn't make some feeble attempt at a librarian/backup

wow...I was following this when it started, but FAILED to follow and there it is. THANK YOU, I am going to do this today right now immediately if not sooner.Hey! Wait a minute! That's not ZOOM's feeble attempt at a librarian/backup!
That's MY feeble attempt at a librarian/backup!
Hey! Wait a minute!
Oh, don't worry. Hope it helps.
There's an update on the way. (Too busy though atm with Zoom pedal interface )
What might the update bring? It's pretty useful nowThere's an update on the way. (Too busy though atm with Zoom pedal interface )
dl'd the librarian, backed up both pedals (THANKS AGAIN), tried a few of the patches..will dl some of mine, which are pretty outside..some would say USELESS, but there's quite a lot hiding in these pedals that make for great experiments. Really interested in the controller, especially if it will be able to use the simple Korg nano usb controllers..being able to mix and trigger the efx, do stutter things with a finger tip, as well as use an x/y pad to do Kaos type things.
Also..I went back to the Zoom forum today, the one I gave up on over a year ago..and sure enough there were announcements..but after waiting and wading through that for over a year, I gave up on it. It still is badly organized, etc.
I don't know much about Zoom the corporation..I see they just went public. I have this theory that there are a few brilliant engineers in the pedal department who come up with crazy inexpensive tools that people consider plastic toys, but in reality are useful. They have a little lab in the basement of the monolith. They amuse themselves..ah..let's make a Strymon copy! then they knock one off in an hour and go to lunch. Come back and make a few Zoom originals (noise reduction works great) then they tell marketing to sell the pedal for $0.01. Meanwhile, the corporation is focusing on hd cameras and recorders, and has pretty much forgotten the engineers in the basement. I almost feel like sending them a note..something that says we are on to what you guys are doing, on to the fact you are great engineers with big ears..and please keep up your work. Dr Dash Dot, same applies to you sir. expect an order soon after I get my thoughts/questions organized.

I enjoy this narrative, I'm not sure I 100% believe it, but I enjoy it.![]()
Well, alright. I admit it. I'm a recovering engineer. And I'll up your mark to 99%.
I like your Zoom theory. I read somewhere that they outsource their design work, but that might have been speculation.
From what I read of the nano, it should just plug in and work.[/QUOTE
