Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Hey guys I was hoping one of you could help me get the sound in this clip at 1:40.



Any help appreciated I also have the b7k pedal, so if any of you have one that may help you as well. I have been trying to get this sound and have came kind of close but I think one you guys with more experience in using this pedal may be able to come closer.

Based on that clip, it sounds like you can duplicate his sound using an aguilar amp model with a light distortion and some compression. perhaps this patch might help.

Section 1: optocomp: drive: 4, tone: 7, level: 80

Section 2: squeak: gain: 5, tone: 70, level: 100, balance: 18

Section 3: ag amp: bass: 3, mid: 5, treble: 4, midfq: 300hz, gain: 45, level: 80, char: bright, cab: e4x10, mix: 50

After playing another gig with the B3 I'm getting to know it a bit better now. Running it through the front end of my amp I'm starting to think that the amp sims aren't working so well for the kind of note definition I'm after. I'm thinking of reprogramming my patches to use the various DI box sims instead of the amps.

Anybody else having that kind of issue?

Not really dude.
Look back through 99% of the postings in this forum, they involve either:

1. People asking how to achieve a certain sound.
2. Other people posting their B3 settings on achieving a certain sound.

Let's keep this thread for discussion about B3 Patch Ideas ..... Please!

Well honestly, my post was about patch ideas. It was in reference to using amp models vs preamp/DI pedal models in reference to running through the front end of an amp. It wasn't referencing connectivity of the B3.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates the warm dark sounds of bartolini pick-ups. this patch works well with passive basses. a great patch for those who likes bartolini pick-ups.

Dark clean bass

Section 1: m comp: thresh: 20, ratio: 5, level: 90, attack: 7

Section 2: bottom b: bass: 4, treble: 5, level: 50

Section 3: bass pre: bass: 4, treble: 3, level: 70, mid: 4, freq: 300hz

Here's another patch I came up with. this patch is similar to dark clean bass, only with a different preamp and different settings suitable for active basses.

Dark clean bass 2

Section 1: m comp: thresh: 20, ratio: 5, level: 90, attack: 7

Section 2: bottom b: bass: 3, treble: 5, level: 50

Section 3: ac bs pre:gain: 59, depth: 7, level: 90 bass: 2, lo mid: 3, lm_f: 200hz, mid: 0, hi mid: -2, treble: 3

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch duplicates the thick smooth distortion sound of a tech 21 oxford pedal.

Oxford bass

Section 1: m comp: thresh: 30, ratio: 5, level: 90, attack: 7

Section 2: overdrive: gain: 5, tone: 25, level: 100, balance: 25

Section 3: bass drive: bass: 3, treble: 2, presence: 0, gain: 45, blend: 75, level: 100, mid: 7

Anybody got settings for any of the compressor effects to make it sound a little edgy/gritty? I like the 160 comp settings I'm using in my patches, but I miss the bit of edge the Accountant gave.

I use it like a string of stompboxes - first one is always the compressor in every patch. I have patches that have OD and fuzz selectable, but I would like an edgy-compressor sound if possible from one of the comp models alone. Hell, if they modeled the Accountant I'd be pretty smiley.
