Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch has a tube overdrive sound that has warmth and grind all together.

Modern bassdrive

Section 1: znr: thresh: 17, detect: efxln, level: 100

Section 2: t-scream: gain: 40, tone: 75, level: 90, balance: 40

Section 3: svt: bass: 3, mid: 4, treble: 5, midfq: 300hz, gain: 30, level: 35, ultra: both, cab: e4x10, mix: 50

Here's a new patch Idea I came up with. this patch was inspired by FaithNoMan's pedal combination idea. this patch has a darkglass type of grind that's thick and heavy.

Big bass grind

Section 1: squeak: gain: 20, tone: 45, level: 100, balance: 25

Section 2: overdrive: gain: 5, tone: 40, level: 100, balance: 25

Section 3: bassdrive: bass: 3, treble: -2, presence: 0, gain: 45, blend: 75, level: 100, mid: 7

I'm sorry if this is off topic. I'm trying to get Justin Chancellor sounds out of a Zoom B3, the biggest concern right now is the delay. I'm using the effect that's simply named "Delay", does anyone reccomend using a different delay? He uses a Boss DD-3. Here's a picture of his settings if it helps.

I think you're going to have just mess with the settings until you get what you want. I think the Delay model is digital delay and so is the DD3 so I think that might get you closest.

Which pitch shifter are you using? I find the Monopitch works the best but like the name implies it's monophonic. I don't really use the B3 for pitch shifting much. I use a boss PS-6.

I'm using PitchSHFT, I haven't really tried the other ones as much. I don't think the Monopitch would work for me since I would like to do riffs while using it and not just holding one note. I was considering just getting a Digitech Whammy, but 200 dollars is quite a bit for an effect I will only use every once in a while.

I also considered the fact that the Whammy has the 4th up/down options, which can simulate either a B or a high C string. I don't even think I would use the bending on the Whammy that much either. But I didn't know that the Monophonic could play riffs, thanks again!

WARNING!!!

Not for the fainthearted traditional musician!

I got a patch for you, I just saved it on my own Zoom B3 I just got today, looking for some bit crushed synth sound:

I call this one "OCC 8 BMS" which stands for "Out of Control Crazy 8 Bit Mono Synth":

1. Mono Synth: Decay-100/Wave-Saw/Reso-0/Synth-100/Dry-0/Level-100

2. Bit Crush: Bit-7/Smpl-50/Bal-100/Tone-10/Level-100

3. Ring Mod: Freq-28/Tone-10/Bal-50/Level-120

And Total patch balance is set to 100, which means 100% wet signal when effect balance is set to 100

As my name for this patch indicate it's a bit hard to control, but on the other hand it'll give you a crazy thick 8 bit synth sound.

For that jason newsted sound, try this patch.

Section 1: znr: thresh: 17, detect: gtrln, level: 100

Section 2: m comp: thresh:18, ratio: 5, level: 90, attack: 5

Section 3: svt: bass: 4, mid: 3, treble: 2, midfq: 300hz, gain: 35, level: 35, ultra: both, cab: swr4x10, mix: 50

as for the david ellefson sound, he uses jackson basses and plays through hartke amps. perhaps this patch might do the trick.

section 1: bassdrive: bass: 2, treble: 3, presence: 0, gain: 50, blend: 50, level: 70, mid: 5

section 2: graphic eq: set to your liking

section 3: hartke: bass: 3, mid: 4, treble: 5, midfq: 300hz, tube: 50, level: 57, comp: 2, cab: 8x10, mix: 50

Give these patches a shot and see if it works out for you.
