Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch is an updated version of the gk fusion patch with a tube screamer model for a more crunchy overdrive.
GK fusion crunch
Section 1: bass drive: bass: 3, treble: 2, presence: 0, gain: 45, blend: 50, level: 100, mid: 7
Section 2: t-scream: gain: 30, tone: 45, level: 100, balance: 50
Section 3: g-krueger: bass: 3, mid: 4, treble: 2, midfq: 250hz, gain: 45, level: 80, color: off, cab: swr4x10, mix: 50
GK fusion crunch

Just sat down and practiced and tweaked my main two patches, Clean and Dirty. Same effects on both patches, just a DI, some compression, and a noise gate. Down and dirty.
Clean: ZNR - THRSH 10, Detect EfxIn, Level 100. 160 Comp - THRSH -30, Ratio 1.0, Gain 0, Knee (hard), Level 100. D.I. + - Bass 5, Mid 0, Treble -6, Level 52, Blend 80, Gain 82.
Dirty: ZNR - THRSH 10, Detect EfxIn, Level 100. 160 Comp - THRSH -30, Ratio 1.0, Gain 0, Knee (hard), Level 100. D.I. + - Bass 5, Mid -10, Treble -1, Level 13, Blend 80, Gain 100.
I keep my 'Total' volume at 60; keep that in mind as the gain settings on these patches WILL be overly hot if you have your total volume set at 100.

Any Pink Floyd fans out there? I'd love to get your take on the effects on "One of These Days" off of Meddle. The 4-Phaser gets most of the tone, I just can't seem to make up my mind on what delay I like and what settings to choose.
I set my 4-Phaser at Rate 1, Reso 5, Level 54, LoCut Off. Going through a Fender Jazz, neck pup dimed, bridge pup 3-4, tone 2-3 and then through an Ampeg BA210v2 (or SVT).
Along with the delay, there is a portion at about 2:58 that is very processed...synth? It seems like at that point the rate of the phaser is sped way up.

Any suggestions how to get more 'woof', ala 15" speakers? The cab sims help but don't quite get the 'fwop' that I am looking for, that old school 15" boom.
I actually think I understand what you mean by "fwop", for what I'm after it's kind of the opposite... but I get what you're looking for.
Have you tried using TWO amp sims w/ cab sims in the same patch? Try a couple of different combinations... also, you may consider using the patch that gets you close and throwing some EQ on the last part (post the amp/cab sim) and playing around with boosting the 125 - 250 Hz range...
Never been much of an effects guy, but my covers band is starting to play a few tunes that I think will benefit from getting the B3 out of the shed.
Any advice on where to start for effects in these songs. I can’t here a tone and identify the various effects…..I just now it is effected somehow.
Gold on the Ceiling – Black Keys: The bass sounds super distorted, I used the “Big Muff” effect but it seems too much in the full band.
Locked out of Heaven – Bruno Mars: Again I think it’s just super fuzzy bass in the chorus.
Moves Like Jagger – Maroon5: More synthy, tried the “slow attack” to get the sort of backwards sound the bass has but couldn’t get the timing right, or the fade in fast enough.
Mr Brightside & Somebody Told Me – The Killers – Is there fuzz on the bass in both these. I think a bit of fuzz and playing with a pick will get me a ballpark sound, but which fuzz?
F* You – C Lo Green – Is there fuzz on the bass in the chorus?
Sweet Child O Mine – Heaps of chorus and a little bit of fuzz?

Right on, I get that it's not something every song calls for, that's the nice thing about the B3! I have a few songs we play now that were 60's rockers played over overdriven tube amps that were VERY gnarly...there's just something about that particular tone that works for those songs.
It's been quite a while since I checked in on this thread. I just reset my B3 last night and now have all individual effects in bank 1, a graphic EQ in bank 2, and the ZNR noise reduction in bank 3. I didn't have enough spots so I had to leave a few effects out so I left out the amp sims for now. I know this might not be the best use for the unit, but I wanted to work with individual effects and see how each one functioned on its own. Honestly, I really like using a single pedal at a time. I think eventually I'll cut out some of the unnecessary things that I don't use and open up a few spots for some custom patches with multiple pedals..just wanted to say taht I'm loving getting more familiar with the unit and love this thread!

The BassDrive was modeled after the Sansamp Bass Driver DI. The Booster was modeled after the Xotic BB Driver. I will refer to others with experience with the Darkglass to see what they think is closest there.
Sounds to me like a bright tube bass sound with some compression. perhaps this patch might help you out.

crystalman can you clarify what the frequency on dualcomp in the post #1875 is supposed to be the lowest mine will go is 300Hz
I have similar problem with mine now as well. If I play around with my volume control on my guitar, it will work eventually. Not good if you're playing live though. I have to adjust my volume control after tuning. Have you heard back from anyone one this issue.

I discovered that it was simply a matter of having my bass volume up a lot higher than I thought reasonable, in order to be a sufficiently strong signal for the tuner to register an input. I had this problem when I was using small powered monitors, when I tended to keep my bass volume low to not blow the speakers. And yeah, I have to turn on the tuner and then increase the volume, then after using the tuner remember to turn the volume down again before playing.
