Zoom MS-60B announced... at last

You know, that's a good question. I haven't tried it yet, but in looking at the details I'm going to have to try it out.
Just went through the firmware update for the geetar version (MS-50G). Zoom is at version 2.01 for this unit, the new version correcting a few bugs (the tuner will hopefully work better) and added 45 new effects. Still no update for our version, but its still a new pedal on the market. At least, we know the update procedure works as indicated and is pretty painless to do.
Sweet. Yeah, I just got a response from zoom saying that only the 50 update was available at this time. Didn't tell me when the 60b or 70cdr would update. I'd imagine it will be somewhat soon. At least for the 60b.
if it's the same as with the 50, a news item will appear on the Zoom main page and a tab will be added under the pic on the product's page. That what I saw, anyway.

The more I play it, the more I like it.
I find myself using almost no EQ on the stock amp models. The chorus is very nice. The *fretless* modeler, while probably the most annoying and unconvincing sound on earth played by itself, is unexpectedly quite convincing in the mix, and suddenly I don't know how I lived without it.
My next challenge is to see if I can get any kind of warm harmonic distortion. Perhaps the sansamp model?

Same here with the fretless. Turns out its one of the patches I use the most (with oldskool). Sounds really good with the band, but ****** on its own.
The SansAmp sim is very good, just needs to be tweaked a bit to get it to sound right. But it'll get you close to the real thing. Not really distortion though, more like OD. For distortion, I was really impressed with the MXR D.I.+ sim. Still a wow.

Omg, did you say 45 new effects ? That's amazing ! If we get even 2/3 of that, it will be an exciting update.
I have the MS-50G too and it works well for bass as well. The two pedals together give you a heck of a pedal board.

Holy hell you're dang right it will!! If they add those, I'll be a happy happy man. Imagine if they added a B7K preamp........ Oh man!!! A guy can dream can't he??
Personally I'd like an improved phaser. I think the current phaser makes too much noise when you're not playing. I have two Phase 90 clone pedals and both are much more quiet than the MS-60B phaser, I'm afraid.
I don't know how to quote from different sources in the same post, so here's the best I can do.

Heck, why not a double multi stomp, like the Boss double pedals, each with their ins and outs ? This way, you could have a series of effects early in the chain (ex: comps, octaves and filters) and another series later in the chain (modulation, delay, reverb). Just a thought.

I don't need more effects, just a better way to manage the patches list. I'd like to be able to select the letter that I want to assign the patch to. If I want to make changes to my list, I don't want to delete the list and start over which is current method.
BTW, does anyone know if you lose all your tweaked and self created patches with a firmware update?

I did the up-date BEFORE making my own patches, specifically because I wasn't sure about this. During the 50G's update procedure, it is mentionned (in one of the on-screen windows that pop-up) that self-created patches will not be lost. I don't recall seeing anything about tweaks brought to stock patches, but since new patches are not harmed by the up-date, I'm assuming the same applies to stock patches.

Used mine on an outdoor gig a few weeks ago. Bright sunlight, no shade, no problem.
