Sorry for the techno-babble, I was mostly trying to put out some data for those who think they are having a problem to compare against. Few of them have a way to do FFT spectral analysis but at least one does. Jeremy also posted a spectral plot but it uses a scale of generic dB rather than dBV or dBu which use known references and without the zero point reference for his dB units we cannot compare his results to mine. His may be better, worse, or the same as mine. As a result I cannot say if any of these units are "broken" and in need of a repair. At least one has been sent into Zoom so it will be interesting to hear what they say about it.
In my opinion, the pedal I have should be fine for live work. When I play at church I get way worse noise pickup than this from the electronic drum kit I stand next to. If you are using one of these pedals and don't hear any offensive noise from it then I think it is safe to say that nothing is wrong with it. It may have a bit higher or a bit lower output noise than mine due to manufacturing variation but if you are not hearing a problem then there is none. As far as the power supply options go I think that batteries will be the worst (but still worth having in the unit as insurance against a power cable mishap), the results with USB could vary directly with the quality of the USB power supply, and the external 9V option gives you the most protection against noise although a crappy 9V supply could cause issues too.
If you record or plan to record with this pedal then I am not sure. Recording is very demanding work because people listening at home will hear very faint problems that they will not hear in a live setting, even a fairly quiet one like a church service. As an engineer what I am seeing on my pedal does not disturb me. Mine has the dynamic range of a CD, 16 bits. On a good recording you may be able to hear the spurs you see in the plots above but if you can then you could mask them by mixing in some white noise and still have a 16 bit dynamic range. If you need to go beyond that then you might not be able to use an MS60B. Of course, as I said, I don't know if any pedal on the market is better than this. Maybe, maybe not, I just don't know. Multi-effects pedals are the classic case of a disruptive technology. They offer some significant advantages even though they may not perform as well as traditional pedals in some respects. Suitability for recording use may be one of those respects. From what I hear others saying the MS60B and its recently released Zoom cousins are a step forward for multi-effects pedals. I certainly like mine. But they may not be the best choice you can make for every application. Yet. I have to assume that once you start to get into recording work you will have to upgrade or change a lot of your equipment and habits anyway.
If you have been using yours for a while in the applications you want to use it for and hear no issues then relax. There is nothing wrong with it for what you do.

- Looking for simplicity - not interested in tweaking patches; hoping out of box patches are good.
- Don't need much - would just want to bond with a coupla amp simulations, a good compressor, and the tuner.
- I have the B2. I always thought it was good, and I always thought the tuner was very good.
Would this be a step up for me? Compression good in this box?
So I just got back from Sam Ash in Phoenix for a test run of the ms-60b. I fully expected to leave with it, in hopes of putting together a quick/easy rig for our smaller gigs.
The one unit they had on hand had a very pronounced high-frequency tone. Not hiss, but an audible note... Audible to me, at least. the grey-haired guy behind the counter couldn't even hear it. I could hear it well enough to sing the pitch (octaves lower). It seemed most pronounced on the SANS UP preset.
I was on battery power (the only option) and plugged into a few different Hartke amps. It was most pronounced on the LH1000 and aluminum 8/10 -- especially with the "bright" button engaged. That brought the tone leaping out into the front. I'm not sure what frequency that accentuates, but that might be a good bit of info to pin down the noise.
The noise was so significant, although it varied from preset to preset, that there's no way I'd run that through FOH at even our smallest bar gigs. And through a large festival-style system, the sound crew would want to string you by your thumbs. Dogs and teenagers would get irritable and maybe lash out at strangers.
I wonder how many of us are like the guy at Sam Ash -- he couldn't hear it at all.
Of note is the fact that I have an ms-100bt that has exhibited none of that behavior. I'm going to spend some time with it to be sure.

Has anyone had their pedal cut off after a certain amount of time? is there an auto shutoff? mine cuts off and I have to unplug and plug it back in.

Perhaps stepping on the pedal resets the timer?
