Hi Pietro. As of now, I have only compared SVT emulations as I am too busy with work. The B3n sounds more real to me, especially with mic adjustments. I'll try comparing again this weekend so I can give a much more detailed review.
Hi, I need help - I have a chance to jump on a ms60B.
I only want it as a more compact alt to the B2.1u I use as an amp sim via xlr to the mixer. I know that the 60B doesn't have a xlr but can I run the 1/4" out straight to the mixer (I think not) which has clr and 1/4" inputs?
or would 1/4" to my passive DI then xlr cable to the mixer do it ?
Also - can you run headphones from the MS60B?

No expert here, but I think you will be fine as long as it is a line level output. Maybe you can find a manual to download from zoom to verify. I'm sure I've run the B1xon output directly to one of my mixer inputs. You might need to reduce the volume of the patch(es) in use so you get reasonable adjustment of the input sensitivity. I'm 99% sure I have run the output of my B1xon (as well as my active bass) directly to my mixer. You may want to reduce the output to get the input sensitivity on the mixer at a reasonable range. Reasonable to me is getting it where it barely clips with the input sensitivity on the mixer channel somewhere between 3 and 9 o'clock. Who types out o'clock these days? What's wrong with me? If the signal into the mixer is hot enough that the input must be turned almost all the way down, or weak enough that you have to crank it full go, it will likely be noisy. This is going by my poor memory from at least 6 months ago, when I last had everything out and messing with stuff. So YMMV! Oh, I think you want an unbalanced input, sometimes labeled "Bal or unbal." If you get the output adjusted "right" on the zoom, I think you'll be fine.
Thanks, I decided to jump but I missed it. Oh well. I'll keep waiting for an opportunity, it's not like there is anything wrong with the B2.1u anyway.
B2.1u is still pretty cool and my go to for smaller gigs.
TBH - it is plenty good enough for me.
Just thought it was a good chance to compare the amp sims, and maybe use the ms and have the b2.1u as a backup and headphone solution.
But not to be this time.
Yep but as consumers we want newer stuff, I have a B3, MS60b and MS100bt
B3 for recording and the MS pedals on my gig board. My ZOOM collection started with a 506 Bass, 508 Delay, 607, B2 for synth sounds, B2 and G1x.

Last night I picked up a Zoom 506 II from a guy in town for $40. Said he used it twice, looks about right. Mainly I wanted to be able to try all sorts of effects without having to buy individual pedals, and I figured I could use it with my keyboard too. Many of the effects sound like heavy distortion, but some might be useful for bass such as chorus. The octaver also tracks very well and is seamless with fretless slides. I also didn't realize it had a tuner, and so far that's the best part. Fast response all the way down to A0. Nice for honing up on fretless intonation.
I had an original 506 and later a 607 both really great sounding pedals that sadly both had to be retired after a hard gig period. Both still work but developed issues that were problematic. The 506 parts of the display died, making it hard to use live, the 607 suffered a cracked circuit board after being jumped upon by a drunken guest singer, it is wired to an external jack but no longer gig worthy. Agreed the octaver in those pedals had a certain pleasing quality as did the chorus and flanger but the distortions pretty much sucked but let me know what direction to pursue and I already had really good fuzz pedals I was using with the Zooms.

Zoom updates the MS60B with 2.0. Compltes effects and amp Sims from B3 as well as newer effect models. Wish they also updated the B3 with the new goodies.
Better check because Zoom has one for the MS70cdr that is pretty generous adding new effects plus whole new effect types filter, comps, preamp

I've received so much helpful information from so many people here on TB. Here's a little something in return--mostly beneficial to Zoom B3 and MS-60B owners. It's a side-by-side comparison of the effects on both units. The recently added effects for the MS-60B are in red. This is the first time I've uploaded a document, so let's hope it works. I also have the list as an Excel file if anyone wants that instead.
