I have a 2024 American Pro II in Dark Night that I picked up in Feb of 2025 for around $1300.00 new off Reverb. 8.8 pounds so a little bit heavier than yours but not too bad. I've been toying with the idea of swapping the pickguard to a Fender White Moto but was unsure of how it would look. Seeing yours, yeah, I'm swapping it!

Login to view embedded media Here’s one of many videos on it. Something I recommend if you do try it is to compare the 1 channel with blending both and see what you like best. My favorite is to blend both, keep the drive down and use it as a clean boost while being able to set the mids and frequency. The edge knob is perfect for adding a touch of brightness if you need more. I like it better than the preset bright switch. I hope it sits well in the mix for you. Mine does.

All potentiometers affect frequencies. The 1m just lets more high frequencies through than a lower value would.

I just bought a used 2024 Shecter Hellcat VI from Guitar Center and I love it. As a guitar player new to the bass, before I was using a Fender P bass and basically doing simple pentatonic scales and following the route notes of my guitar chords. Now I feel like the Yngwie Malmsteen of bass. I’m kidding but I can move around the fretboard easily and I’m writing more creative riffs. The one HUGE problem I have though is that this is the 2024 model with monster tone stack pickups which I believe are humbuckers and also have a split coil function that makes them single coils but these are buzzing like crazy. It is a great instrument but I consider this to be a dealbreaker. Any Hellcat VI owners here? By the way this is NOT the model with the single coil pickups. Thanks.

The wider neck, neck dive, 7.5" radius was just not doing it for me. And then the inconvenience of quick truss rod access (I'm a tweaker and like to be able to make quick adjustments). But man, I loved that look and tone!!!

My solution was to order through the Mod Shop. Charcoal Frost Metallic, tort pickguard and the Pure Vintage 60s pickups. I got the same neck, tuners and bridge that I have on my Am Pro II, which I love! And I get the look and tone of the Vintera II the I love. I ordered it a week ago, so hopefully will have it within 3 more weeks.

I don't, i also just found out the neck pup died.

I use flat wounds; having trouble finding what I want. I used Fender flat wound, tape wound, had nylon “thread” around the string. (frays with hard use but what I want.) Not having any luck, have a new set of D’Addario ETB92M but they seem to be wound with anybody know of flatwounds wound with nylon “thread” ? I finger pick, and my basses are fretted.

For the Labella 760N, I do not find the B string excessively floppy. It is somewhat floppy, as tends to be the case with B strings in general, but I don't find it objectionable. For what it's worth, this is, more precisely, the 760N "extra long" set... I don't know what difference that might make in terms of tension, but it was the exact set specified to match the bass.

In my opinion, overall, comparing the E-G strings

Labella 750N: too floppy, don't like
D'Addario: feels good, more floppy than ~45-105 roundwound, but manageable. I would guess feels more like a 40-95 roundwound set maybe.
Labella 760N: least floppy, maybe no more than ~45-105 roundwound.

So I had opportunity to try the D'Addario tapewound B string. I like it!

It's ostensibly the same gauge/diameter as the Labella 760N B string (135), but it feels thinner. The flexibility of it feels good; not too much either way. I wouldn't mind it a little more stiff, but I don't think I really have any complaint. I'm not sure that the Labella is any more stiff; the nylon "tape" feels a little harder on the Labella string, so it might have a bit of a stiffer response just for that reason.

I continue to like the overall feel of the whole D'Addario tapewound set, occupying that space between the Labella 760N and 750N.

A guitar shop near me used to give boxes away. Then, when CL and FB sales became a thing, cutting into their in-store sales, they started selling used shipping boxes. Can’t blame them, I guess.

Yeah, I know.Tthat would drive me nuts. I had a well-known and recently-retired luthier make me a bass once and he couldn't get any dots aligned properly, looked like a monkey did it, so I sent it back.

I believe it is typically Jetguitars to just sell online, also here in Europe. Like Sire and many other of those brands. It is a way to keep the cost down. Design and manufacturing are in separate places, the one mostly in the West and the other in China or Indonesia.

Fastest you ever learned a bass line!

Hey there, for a jazz bass project, I gave it a try to the Lusithand one. I cannot say about how long it will last before problems arrive, but I ca tell you that is one of the best onboard preamp ever tested: 4 bands EQ, 2 volume controls, scooped mid switch, active-passive switch, passive tone control switch (100%, 50%, 0%) all that in a 4-hole j-bass control plate.

These are indeed fantastic and a unicorn that does not pop up in the used market often. I love mine. I am glad to read the response from @hasbeen as it seems perfectly designed for a Ken Smith 6 string tone type thing. I love the sound with the tweeter attenuator turned down to about 15% - 25% and a little grit dailed in from an Ampeg tube preamp. It's never harsh sounding but it can do anything really imo. I wish I had two of them. It's taken years to arrive at the sound in my head and this cabinet is a large part of that tone.

Okay, I just picked this one up yesterday. It's a used 2011 Model T. Excellent condition! And the plastic is still on the pickguard.

She's no lightweight, weighing in around 10. lb., 2 oz.! But I had a 4" wide black Italia leather strap sitting around and even with my bad back, it's not bad. Feels heavier when I pick it up than when it's on my body with this strap.

It came with rounds on it. I'm a flats guy, so as soon as I got home with it I got out a set of flats to have ready. But oh my, the rounds actually sound killer on this thing. I've found my favorite settings with the P-pickup on full, the Jazz pickup around 1/4, and the tone knob between 1/4 and 1/3. I was playing along to some music on Spotify and couldn't stop smiling (just me and the dog in the house). If you look at the pic of the headstock you can see that the dog seems to like it too. I'll eventually slap on some flats just to see which I like better, but my first reaction was, "Whoa! This thing is a Fender-killer!"

And don't get me wrong. I have several great Fenders, some great MusicMan StingRays,etc.. But this thing doesn't take a back seat to any of them. My first Schecter ever. My expectations were not real high. So this baby is a very pleasant surprise.

That's a mighty fine idea...

The 610 has wheels like a dolly a secure handle and rub rails on the back. Personally, I’d attack this problem with two 210 cabs. You would be surprised how many situations you need only need of those cabs.

Or selling an instrument in a face to face transaction. Years ago, I bought one of these when they were priced at about $20 for the reason I stated above. Yes, a thin padding, but it was enough for my deal.

However, I would never ship an axe in of these.
