I like the size, simplicity and price of the Bronco but it has no ummph.

have you messed about with the pickup heights? i know at least one person on here changed the pickup but then went back to the original one.
also, search for the "m2b2" club (short scale fender/squiers) there's a few modded bronco's in there!
I don't have one but I've been tempted because one can be bought quite cheaply and it's a short scale bass. I just know (or maybe assume) I wouldn't be happy with the pick up in it. Maybe messing w/the height would do the trick.

If you really like the bass then I don't see why not. A lot of people will say you shouldn't put a bunch of money into a cheap bass, but if you dig the way it plays then why the hell not.
