I ordered this one back in April, and I just got the "Finished Bass" email from Kevin with the following.

The record I'm talking about is the weight. This thing came in at 6.7 lbs! I think my strap is heavier than that.

What, you didn't know that the rear cavity is just a helium chamber? There are no conventional electronics in these basses. The Sadowsky tone comes from nuclear fairy dust! :D

Damn, I thought my Elrick was light! But then again, we all know that a low B adds at least 2 pounds to any instrument!

They are hollow , aren't they?
I guess that's a good weight nonetheless.
my non hollow 36" 5 string comes in at just under 8 lbs.
So I guess it is still possible.
Nice looking bass!!

I'll know in a couple of days, but Sadowsky has been chambering the bodies for years without complaints. I've been through roughly 10 NYCs and I've never had an issue with 'thinner' tone. Some guys prefer solid bodies however.

Heresay! Heresay!

This is why Peavey T-40's feel like they're made of concrete. Everyone back then thought that a heavier bass would be thicker sounding and more resonant, so Peavey purposely went out looking for the heaviest pieces of Ash they could find.

In my experience, lighter basses are fatter sounding and punchier than heavy ones. But heavy ones are brighter and sustain more.
I do hope the very light weight won't cause neck-dive, as is sometimes the case. Probably not- it's a Sadowski. Still, that's awfully light.

Not according to Roger, IIRC. I recall reading an interview with him regarding the chambering. He felt it was an improvement across the board.

The only concern I would have would be neck dive. I guess when it's this light, the neck must be very light too, and thus it shouldn't be much of a problem.
