1x10 cabs, do they exist?

OK I had the crazy idea that it would be really cool for smallish gigs to go modular/portable and go for sound separation on stage by having a 1x12 and a 1x10 cab, but it looks like there are few companies making 1x10. Anyone know why this is ?

And if you have links to any 1x10 or 1x10 DIY plans please lay them on me. Or am I simply nuts and I should get 2 1x12s.

Thing is, having 2 1x12s, I might as well just bring my 15 because the size/weight would be similar....there goes the portability.

THanks.

Epifani makes one.
Genz Benz makes one.
Eden used to make one that was flat out insane sounding- the CXC10 I believe. I had it and a combo that had the same 110 as a cab. AWESOME sounding cabs.
Yamaha made a single 10 cab a few years back that was the same way. Loud as hell and great sounding.

Low Down Sound makes them custom to your spec and I played quite a few of them that sounded great.

wow thats what I call fast response, thanks That mojosonic looks cool, and I'm wondering if the materials on the DIY will cost a similar amount?

If the Fitzmaurice is way cheaper and has good sound, I got the tools, just gotta get off my lazy butt. I'll google it

Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T uses just one 10:

You can use a different head with the cab, obviously, and they sell the cab as a separate item. I have used this by itself with a medium loud rock band in a smaller space and it was sufficient. To run the upright through it to play jazz, it's way more than enough anywhere. For playing rock in larger venues, though, I use heavier-duty gear.

The Eden CXC10 was an amazing cab. I used to run two of them with a WT-400, and it was tone-and-headroom heaven. It's the one rig I truly regret selling--especially once they stopped making them. :(

2 Bill Fitzmaurice jack 10s should be a great way to go. Bring one for quiet gigs or rehearsals, 2 for normal gigs. I'm heading that way with my Omni - building a 10.5 (the 1 10 model) for small stuff, i have the 2x10 built and am currently using it, and I'll have 3 for big gigs with no PA support.

10" cabs are my favorite for clear, articulate tone. I have two Epifani UL110s and it's a great sounding pair. I do think larger speakers are needed to support medium and larger gigs.

110, small portable, doesnt weigh a ton, good tone, coffeehouse gigs. If you arent inclined to DIY, then LDS or the ACME LB-1 would be cost effective solutions.

little 110's show up in TB want ads every few weeks or so.

edit- I forgot, those little yamah 110's they no longer make are 4 ohms of really sweet tone.
