1x10 cabs, do they exist?

x 3 , Thanks again John !

How do you run those??
How many ohms is each cab and what does the amp see?

I don"t recall those GB amps bein stable below 4 ohms.

I would love to run three 110 cabs like that!

We seem in this thread to be going back to basics. Boxes with 10" drivers in them. Is the real problem with a front loaded horn, size? The horn should raise the efficiency of the cab by, say 100% (?), but is the added size the reason so many builders go back to just a box, a vent, and a chassis? Or is it ease of build? Or does the box + speaker chassis just give an easy, transportable, acceptable solution?

the cabs are 8 ohms each. (at least i know that the bag ends are), so 3 x 8ohm cabs=2.667 ohms.

i don't know which head Scott's (fretno) is, but my GBE600 is perfectly stable at 2 ohms.

2x8 ohm cabs summed parallel, summed parallel with another 8 ohm cab is a 4 ohm load.

Not sure how that works with symmetry and power handling, but 3x8 ohms doesn't ahve to break a 4 ohm load.

wrong. two 8 ohm cabs summed parallel is 4 ohms, add another 8 ohm cab and it is 2.667 ohms. there is no way to run three 8 ohm cabs to acheive a 4 ohm load.

thank you Scott. I'm glad that you like them, and that they went to a good home. ;)

Thanks man , I'll take care of them ;) Going to order up some nice " Studio slips " next week :bassist:

The GB NeoPak is 500watts at 2ohm , the Bagends are 8 each and the Schroeder is 4 ohm .

I got to unbox my first Mojo SONIC Mini today. Build quality is awesome and it weighs 21 lbs according to my bathroom scale. I opted to not get the tweeter in either of them. My first ten minutes with it were promising. Going to try it out tonight in a coffee shop setting with my Demeter / power amp rig (carefully :-)) as that is all I have got at the moment. But ultimately the vision is to use them with a microhead which will probably be and SWR Headlight, GenzBenz Shuttle Max or the Demeter and a 1 space power amp.

LopoLine makes nice empty cabs, also custom sized very reasonably priced. I had one made to fit the footprint of my Peavey BASIC 112 50 watt combo amp. I loaded it with an Eminence Neo-mag 10"/8 ohm speaker. With the combo amp's paralleled output jack the two 8 ohm speakers combine for a 4 ohm load giving me a 70 watt rig. This gives me a small cab to use with my Genz-Benz NeoPak 3.5 for a quick, throw in the trunk 200 watt rig. I take along a keyboard stand just in case there isn't a table to elevate it. Great for loud jams, but not for an actual gig. That's what my Avatar 210 cab is for!

I was loading up for tonight and I am also selling my Redhead at the venue so I ran out room in my uber cool Ford Focus Wagon (says with tounge in cheek) and the Mojo Mini has to ride shotgun. Thought it was fitting on its first outing.

This speaker from Eminence is not only light but designed to be mounted in a small vented cab. Well worth looking at if you want to go down the small / light route so far cut off by heavy magnets and the design contraints that placed on manufacturers. Neo is the way forward. If you build a box and install a 3012 you'll end up with a cab pretty much like the one above.

So I have played out 3 times doing my Wednesday semi-acoustic worship using a single MOjO Sonic Mini. The first night was tough getting used something besides my trusty SWR Redhead but my back was in full support of the transition. By the second time the speaker was really starting break in nicely. I also started using a Markbass LMII that night instead of my Demeter/Poweramp rig. The speaker (singular by the way) sounded really quite large for its size. Very nice low end extension with and mids that blended well with acoustic instruments. In and electric setting it seems you could dial the low end down a bit from where I run it and get a ton more volume from one let alone two. I actually ordered a second one but I am debating if I even need it because I have a couple 2x10's that would work just fine when more level is needed. So I have the second one unopened down in my garage (anybody interested in good deal on a MOjO mini?). Cool box at a cool price from a VERY cool dude.

I'm glad to hear that the Mini is working out so well for you! But I have to tell you, that you really need to listen to the two of them together. You may find yourself selling a 2x10 or two! :D
