Love Never Felt So Good - new MJ

I was actually thinking Nathan East--it has a lot of the same feel and sound as his tracks on last year's Daft Punk album.

Is Over-Compressing Causing my Tone to Mush Out?

You also might want to play with the attack time on the comp. A longer attack time will give the attack of the bass a bit more of a chance to come through before the "bloom" hits the compressor and gets controlled.

    Higher-End Wireless In-Ear Solutions

I play sax/run sound for a 9-piece band, so while I don't have experience playing bass and using in-ears, I'm listening in on everyone's mixes, including the bass player's, whenever we play. I own a PSM900, one of my bandmates has a Sennheiser G3, and the rest are on G2s. I went with the PSM...

Onboard preamps- Just for screwing with the soundman?

Let's take the emotionality of "MY BASS TONE" out of this for a moment, and put it in different terms: A sound guy/gal anywhere has the expectation that what you play during sound check is a reasonable approximation of what you're going to play during a show. In fact, that's the entire basis...

HELP: Multiple Wireless IEMs in One Rack?

I would still bring at least one powered monitor to every gig, for a couple reasons. S*** happens. Ear buds break, transmitter power supplies die, etc., and it's a lot easier to just throw someone up in the monitor on the fly than try to deal with that. It's there as a back up, not a crutch...

HELP: Multiple Wireless IEMs in One Rack?

It's not ideal, but you should be fine. My band does bars/weddings and I run sound from the stage. We have an IEM rack and a receiver rack, each with 7 units, and while it can get hairy depending on our location, it's usually okay. I wish we had the dough for combiners/distros, but it's not...

Is using a driverack pa+ with a studiolive board overkill?

Even on the 24 channel SL, which has the most complete parametric EQ, your max cut is still only 12dB. In addition, the high pass filter has a pretty shallow slope.
