Switch out the pickup covers for solid black that covers up the magnets.

I agree. I wouldn't gig any of my basses without my trusty dunlop straploks.

My main bass is a Godin Shifter 5 string. It's a beast with three single coils :)

I'm definitely a tort fan with a rw board, black pickguard with a maple board.

Try half rounds by D'Addario. They're in between rounds and flats. They have still have a lot of the zing of rounds, but they eliminate fretnoise and are smooth-feeling. It's kind of like the best of both worlds :)

Eminence Delta 12LF. I have two of them in a 2x12 Lopo cab and they really rock out with my Orange BT1000. I can get great vintage or modern sounds out of those speakers!

Check out the reversed (or non-reversed) Icon headstock. This compliments the SB body pretty well (especially the 5er).

Had to plug everything into two gas powered generators. Wouldn't have been horrible had it been an acoustic solo act. As it were, we were a 5-piece rock band...to say the least, we didn't have continual "powerful" power throughout the set.

Many of the thinner-necked Ibanez's are nice to play on (soundgear, etc.) and Carvin B5 or Carvin neckthrough basses also have a comfortable string spacing and neck.

Go with the 1. Nothing beats a good ol' p.
