    Earthquaker Devices Westwood

I have the barbershop and just got the westwood- I thought I’d love the latter based on the positive reviews and YouTube videos, but I just didn’t. Grainy, buzzy drive to my ears except for at really low gain, and synthy, artificial sounding low end. It’s definitely going back to the store...

Bearfoot blueberry- there's a new version!

Hey Dave, where do you have your nature knob set?

Bearfoot blueberry- there's a new version!

Hey everyone, For those of you who find the bearfoot blueberry to be too muddy, there is a new version out that has a much more pronounced treble response. I emailed Don at bearfoot and he confirmed this minor tweak to the circuit was made to make the pedal more guitar friendly. Prymaxe carries...

Why did the hum stop? MXR bass di+

Hmm, could it have something to do with the built in noise gate on the MXR?

    Boss LMB3 vs. MIJ Nady/Guyatone PS-020 Limiter/Enhancer

I had the LMB-3 for a year and didn't like it. It seemed to suck the oomph out of my signal regardless of how it was set and the Enhance knob was pretty useless.

BearFoot FX BlueBerry Bass Overdrive - Quick Tone knob question

The Spark seems like the ticket with it's bass/treble EQ, though I couldn't find any demos of it on bass. My guitar player has one he's using as a boost, so I will have to try it out sometime. I'm also looking at the Fairfield Barbershop, have you ever compared the two? I appreciate any and all...

So there's no way keep my highs while I boost the lows?

BearFoot FX BlueBerry Bass Overdrive - Quick Tone knob question

I get the big low end boost with the tone rolled down too but lose low end drastically as the knob goes clockwise. Perhaps the original Blueberry and Bearfoot are different in this regard?

BearFoot FX BlueBerry Bass Overdrive - Quick Tone knob question

Thanks for the responses. On the site it says the pedal can run from 5v-15v, but that it's designed for 9v operation. I had the chance to try it at 12v last night and it didn't sound much different. A little more headroom, but that's all. After some tweaking with the nature knob, I was able to...

BearFoot FX BlueBerry Bass Overdrive - Quick Tone knob question

I'm pretty sure it's a Bearfoot. It sounds so different than all the demos I've seen here and on Youtube though. Here's a pic of it:

BearFoot FX BlueBerry Bass Overdrive - Quick Tone knob question

I just got this pedal based on the positive reviews here on Talkbass and while I like how it sounds, I'm having somewhat of a hard time finding the sweet spot. It seems that even at noon on the nature knob this pedal cuts highs. To get the high end to come back, I turn the nature knob clockwise...

    New mxr bass distortion!

I just bought this pedal and am blown away. By far, the best bass distortion I have ever used. Capable of a transparent Tubey overdrive to a raunchy edge of chaos sound. Props to Ryan and mxr for ending my 8 year quest for a dirt pedal!

Advice on Cab with GK 700RB-II

I'm a heavy handed player as well playing in a loud 3 piece rock band and I run the 700rb-ii into an 8 ohm avatar b212 neo for some smaller gigs. It barely gets the job done...I can turn the woofer up to maybe halfway with the input and boost levels set at noon and flat eq before I hear the...

How to achieve growly, zingy tone?

The sansamp bass driver with the presence and treble boosted + generous drive will get that sound, from my experience.

    Kill switch pedal

If not any tuner pedal (Polytune, Pitchblack, tu-3, etc etc), the Boss NS-2 also has a mute function.
