    You make a valid point. You could however use a pickup cover that doesn’t expose the pole pieces

    I agree with you and he’s going narrower not wider so not an issue since the mag fields from the poles coalesce any way

    Yes I have a sine effects HPF. Well made piece of kit. I would recommend it They are hand made to order so you can converse with the bloke that makes them. I had mine modified to have a variable slope

    Drill bits will try to wander from harder wood to softer wood. So you need to drill out and dowel if possible. Flush off the dowels with a chisel (properly sharp!)

    I agree with this The energy delivered is given by the area under the wave form. Since for equivalent peak height’s a square wave has more are under it than a sine wave. Speakers fail as a result of the energy delivered not the wave form as such

    Bear in mind an orbital sander gives a finer finish than hand sandIng with the equivalent grit. So you might find 220 a bit slow. I used 80 to do the initial heavy cut then followed by 120. Do a couple of passes then offer it up to the pocket then repeat as required
