Current companies that make Explorer basses

Try the Epiphone explorer. I don't think they make them anymore but I'm sure one wouldn't be that hard to get hold of. Probably looking at around your budget too. I got mine new for £300 i think a couple of years ago. Nice bass

I might be opening for Victor Wooten

That'll be a great gig! I agree, you just gotta play how you would normally and don't try anything super extravagent to maybe try and impress Victor or anything stupid like that. Have a good time!

I need to find a song to play for my GCSE!

What kind of music are you into? You will play better if you are enjoying the song.

I cannot find a hardshell case to fit my Epiphone Explorer bass.

I had the exact same problem. I ended up having a case made for it and its MASSIVE. SO i went for a gig bag for easy transportation, and the only one I could find was a Stagg Acoustic bass bag, but it works fine. If you put a little extra padding in yourself your bass will be better protected...

    Steve Harris P Bass

The red/mirror pickguard is red with the blue because they are the West Ham colours. Have a look at the home kit.

You might need to get a new nut too. But I've never actually tried so I'm guessing.

Hi TB I need your help

Hey, if you're asking me where I am in the UK, then the sunny South East, you? Sorry I didn't see the left-handed part, I'm not sure you could get a left handed Thunderbird. But the higher range Squiers seem to be good quality. That's actually a good point from Calebmundy, if you can then...

Squier Vintage Modified 70s J-Bass [HELP!]

If you buy one, only upgrade if there is something that needs upgrading, I wouldn't suggest upgrading for the sake of it. But if something you feel does need upgrading, fork out some cash for a decent replacement.

Hi TB I need your help

Ah hey, Im UK too. I started with a Stagg, but it was really bad in my experience. I suggest an Epiphone or Squier. Maybe Epiphone Thunderbird if you like the style and shape? or Vintage Modified Squier. I think they are both around £150-200 on the web, a little more in shops. I agree that you...

    PickGuard Change Thundebird

How about a mirror pickguard?? Like Phil Lynott, I think that'd look awesome on the black.

    Low 'Lows'?

Hmm, to ROON, haha I'm not from Oz and to go to the Bass Centre in Melbourne would be a fair hop from the UK!, but thanks for the good advice. Yeah the Behringer is just a small practice amp and I reckon something in the range of 60-100 watts would be a good place to go? MikaSupaStar you know...

    Low 'Lows'?

Hmm cheers for the advice, Im not sure what amp I want to upgrade to, but most probabaly a larger combo. I think that the amp may be a big part of the problem but I'll see in October.
