Ha! While I certainly understand where you're coming from, I won't let myself get there. I bought my Wals because they sound amazing, so it would be a shame to not play them at shows/rehearsals. With a little added care of course!

I'm no pro either, but it really is a pretty simple job. Make sure you check the positions of each capacitor before you pull them, and be careful not to subject the tracers to any more heat that needed (especially when cleaning up the old solder). Obviously if someone has done a video, that...

I just did both of my Mk1's, so I was curious about this as well. It's my understanding that you can go up, just not down and that Wal has used everything from 25v to 50v. FWIW, my Mk1's were 25v (and I replaced them with 35v) and my new Mk2 has 35v.
