I live about 20min away from the guy and sent him a message about it. He really did "relic" it. He was a little squirrelly about meeting though and very very firm on his price for it so I didn't pursue it any further.

Thanks! I should have clarified that my iPad uses a USB-C connection, hence the Scarlett being my first choice. So it seems like I might be able to get away with just a digital interface provided it works well with the iPad.
