    What's On Your Workbench?

here's another modification project that came off my workbench just today. This is her before: a Firefox Miniature P-Bass (25.5" scale) from the 80's, made in India which I bought some years ago just for fun. It didn't get much playtime and never saw a stage with me. But it was always fun to...

    Bass you regret selling/trading?

Why u remind me of my mistakes?? Yea, I sold my '77 Ibanez Rickenbacker copy which was awesome. And I sold my '76 Greco P bass which was awesomer. Didn't need the money, just wanted to change something. Well, I chose the wrong path I guess.

Show me your compact pedalboard setup

right! Forgot about that. Honestly, it‘s another part where I cheaped out, but it‘s been reliable so far I have a Harley Benton Powerplant Junior there. It offers 5 outputs, but luckily the Polytune has a daisychain 9V output, which powers the OC-2 I think. Works well for me! :-)

Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Here's my current compact-ish setup. It sits on a Rockboard Duo 2.1 Poyltune 3 -> Little Bear Fuzz (Woolly Mammoth clone) [set the Polytune to true bypass to not piss off the fuzz pedal] -> MXR BOD -> SA Manta -> Boss OC-2 -> Donner Yellow Fall delay You could say that it's "inspired" by Michael...

    headless advantages

at least the strings don't bump out of tune when carrying the bass in a gig bag that easily. And there are no tuning posts where the strings could move up and down so at least when setteling in, strings should stay in tune rather well, I think

How do you store extra or old strings?

I put my old strings somewhere where I „totally will remember that I put ‘em there“ and when I need them I order new ones because I actually totally forgot about those spare strings.

    Better alternatives to Vox Amplug?

I actually read the manual... The Amplug has 9 drum machine patterns. press the drum machine button once to start the first one, then press and hold the drum amchine button and press the power button to get a variation/another pattern on that bank. You can do that on all 3 modes and every mode...

    Short scale basses legitimate basses?

I'll answer you question by referring to your user name: yup! They are legitimate :-)

    spare strings - do you?

I don‘t, but I should... Broke the high e on my Strat today. But it‘s just a guitar, so who cares ;-)

Buy or build - spec my P bass!

I just finished my build. It‘s based on a Mattia Franchin Guitars (based in Italy) P bass body, which weighs 1.9 kg / 4.1 lbs. Attached a project neck to it (no name, made in Japan), some Gotoh Res-o-lites and a vintage f-style bridge. Total weight: 3.8 kg / 8.4 lbs.
