I've quit bands but offered to sub instead. Subs don't get hassled about "loyalty" which usually seems to only go one way, don't get called to rehearsals to work on songs they already know so the lead singer can posture, and best of all, they get paid.

I play in over ten bands, but they all know about each other. Some have several of the same players. We're sort of "poly-gig-ous." :) That's where the disrespect came from, they weren't up front with you.
