yeah, that looks nice. i'm not crazy about jazz basses because of the bodies but i love the necks. so, i'd say you made a great call on that one.

i'll get some pics up soon. but yeah, thats what my 62 looks like only mine has the black pickguard instead of the red tortoise shell guard. yours looks damn nice!

i ordered the pickup and bridge covers for my 62 and 51 p-basses and they came in yesterday. a friend of mine and myself put them on last night. man, it is amazingly crazy how much nicer those covers make those basses look. my 62 had the red tortise shell pickguard which i wasn't too crazy...

in my opinion it dosen't get any better than the 51' Fender P-Bass Butterscotch Re-issue. that bass plays like incredible. I'd love to have an original but can't afford one of course. Plus when you get the bridge and pickup covers on it. wow! awesome. i love mine.

yeah, they really do. they've got a nice warm sound. it's hard to believe it isn't a tube amp. i really enjoy it.

I ordered it yesterday. I am getting an SVT-450H head to go along with my Ampeg 2x10 and Ampeg 1x15 cabs I have. I'm quite excited. I love the sound of those head and in my opinion you can't beat Ampeg. I love em.

i'm not exactly sure what year it was made. i will have to check the serial number. thanks for your help though. i think an offical fender pickguard would work.
