I think the newer one looks a hell of a lot better and for £108 or so I can see me getting one as a modding platform :)

When I get a propper gigging rig again I'll get another, its a marshall vbc 412 400w@ 4ohms, sealed no tweeter or horn hands down the best sounding cab I've used. Would love to get a Marshall Vba400 to match it but its not likely to happen ;)

Like Michael i'm running no amp and using my ipad with Bias FX through monitors/pa but when i did have a rig i've used this lot with varying degrees of success with a thunderbird :)

If your looking for a hard case you're as well biting the bullet and getting one of the fitted epiphone ones imo, I've had mine for about 3 years now and it's still in very good condition even though it's been in and out of cars/vans, in the hold on a bus and on the train with me. It's a bit big...

Nah it's a new set of pots and cap that got put in when I changed the stock epiphone pickups to a set of early 2000 Gibson pickups.

I tried the nickel ones in the same gauge and really tried to like them but they were missing something for me. Might give the pro steels a go after my cobalt hybrid slinkys are done but they're still going strong after 12 or so weeks

What Bass and Amp were you playing on your first gig that paid??

First paid gig was in 2005 using an Epiphone Thunderbird IV into a boss tu2, Ibanez phat head overdrive, boss chorus, then into a Marshall 3530 30th anniversary head and a Marshall vbc 4x12 cab. My main regret gear wise is selling that amp and cab, heavy as hell but worth it for the sound

You could attach the pre amp pots to the control cavity plate and cut down the shafts on the pots a bit and cut a groove into the top of the shaft so you could use a flat head screwdriver to change your settings? Seen this on a few basses before and if your a set and forget player it cleans up...

Boards been the same for a bit now. I won the B3 in a comp before christmas so I chucked it on as its pretty useful, korg pitchblack has been my goto tuner since it came out and the SFX red dragon is the prototype Max used before settling on the features for the final version, its been on my...
