I have the same bass. I changed the pick up & electronics to EMG but it is not very satisfactory to me. Could you share if you can get the warm sound after changing to Bartolini classic pickup & go passive ?

I use the vt as a tone shaper. So I should put it last to Amp. I have been experimenting both ways in my home practice setup ( just use the pandora with headphone) but found no difference. Not sure if there is significant difference putting them thru real Amp for gig.

I used to use my VT bass. Recently I bought a Boss CEB-3 chorus. Should I make it Bass - chorus - VT bass - Amp Or Bass - VT bass - chorus - Amp ?

Thanks to all !! Actually I think I gave wrong info. The buzz happens when I press the 1st fret the A#. I believe the 2nd fret is uneven. Tried to put paper on the nut slot, but no significant improvement. May need to let my friend doing the fret leveling.

Found buzz on the 1st fret A string only and I couldn't lower the action. I know fret leveling will work, but I don't have the experience and equipment. By the way, is there any way I could do other than level the fret in this case ?

Nice job! Very beautiful ! By the way, after changing to EMG, I couldn't use the J pickup alone. I found it too thin & the output drop drastically. My usual setting is to turn it a little bit more on the P. How would you set the balance between the P & the J ?

Yes you're correct. Have got an EMG 2 band pre on her. The original was the vari mid. Personally I don't like the vari mid too much. Isn't mean it's not good but I felt hard to cut the sound or not easy to cut the sound quick. Also not sure if the neck is too thin as I found I need to tweak...

Wow you guys really made me consider to buy the CV. I tried the highway one and it is good for the playability and the neck.... But still found the MIA sound better. How do you think about the highway ? Is it worth taking it ?

I have a SR2000 that should be from the 90'. The one that is still with the PJ pick up. Maple body & wenge neck (neck thru) I changed both pick up & pre to EMG. The pic is not very clear. Will take better pic in my next band practice.

Not necessary a distortion. I have been using it for beefing up the sound.
