you guys with the PJ CDN pickups I saw at Best Bass Gear they have Nordstrand replacements the only caveat is that you have to use your existing covers!

I have owned three SRXs (still have two) and they are all fairly light basses. I don't have an accurate scale so I can't be specific but I'd guess 9 or a little under.
I have the same bass. I changed the pick up & electronics to EMG but it is not very satisfactory to me. Could you share if you can get the warm sound after changing to Bartolini classic pickup & go passive ?
i've been curious to know that, too, and i think the answer is that you've got to be one of their official endorsers...but now that they've made the sr675, which is 95% of what i would ask for from their custom shop, i can't complain much anymore
How does the SR675/670 compare to the SR505/500? Looks like the pickups and pre-amp are different. Is the finish super thin and prone to chipping off like the SR500?

I underlined the differences. Good question on the chipping, though. I'm not sure if they've been out long enough to hear a report on that.
Interesting, I originally said I thought the pre-amp was different because Sweetwater's site says the 675 has an EQ bypass switch, whereas I know that 505 has the mid frequency selector switch. But in looking at Ibanez's site it says that the switch on the 675 is indeed a mid frequency switch. Presumably Ibanez's site is correct.
Yes, I suspect the official site is correct. Some higher-priced Ibanezes do have an active/passive switch (e.g., my SRSC805 and SR1305E), but that's in addition to to the mid-freq selector switch.

I am using on my SR905 a preamp that was originally on a SRC805 (purchased from BaseHead). I added an extra hole for the frequency switch, and I'm considering using a push pull pot for the active / passive switch.
I'm just not entirely sure it's worth the hassle. I tried the bass on passive mode and the nature of the sound was pretty much the same for me.
Is that your experience too? Do you notice any change of character when going passive?
If you have the tone controls more or less centered, I wouldn't expect active vs. passive to be a dramatic difference.
I'd actually like to have a passive/active switch in addition to the mid-peak switch, mostly because an active-only bass with a dead battery is useless.
but in some basses, what seems to be a passive/active switch might actually only be an EQ bypass switch, thus the bass will be useless in either switch positions in case of dead battery.
Yes, but I don't think that's the case in Soundgear basses. At least, I tried one in GC not long ago that only seemed to work with the preamp bypassed. It turned out someone had stolen the battery out of it.
come to think of it... I've never tried it on my Ibanez basses. Will post on this later...
None of my ibanez have an active/passive switch. They don't work without batteries. I have vari-mid III and EQ-BII.
The newer Ibanez basses have Active/passive options now on them with all their preamps I do believe. I know all the Premium and Prestige preamps do as my last 2 have both had it. They changed out their preamps in 2016 and it made a huge difference IMO. They even added the passive tone control option to the Premium and Prestige basses.

I just got an SR3000 Prestige. Awesome bass! Says "Made in Japan" on the back of the headstock but no serial number there. There is, however, a 51968 number in the SDGR logo on the front of the headstock. I have no idea if this is the serial number or not. I know these were made for about 4 or 5 years, but I'd like to narrow it down.
Does anyone know anything about the serial numbers on these Prestiges? The Ibanez Dater Project does not recognize the 5-digit number either.
