I too, used to wonder how they could charge over 2k for a Chinese made instrument. (This was a few years so when they were much cheaper). Then I got a NG3 in a trade and it all made sense. I've bought and sold a few Dingwalls since then. I currently have a 6 string Z3 that I'll never let go...

I am. It's all usable tones. Here's a link to a video JFB did when the bass came in. It's not strung for F# most of the time. I just wanted the option and to have it set up from Dingwall for F#.

I'm happy with it. I did ask about the Neve pre when it was released, but My body was already routed and it was too late to add it on. I prefer passive basses.
