    Fender Rumble Club

Yep. I can't believe she went along with the idea of me buying it, let alone actually travelling several hrs to pick it up:)

    Fender Rumble Club

I'm very excited to say I should be the owner of a 2nd hand v3 rumble 500 combo and 4 x 10 cab, for about what you'd expect to pay for the 500c only here in Aus. What's more, my wife is doing a day-long road trip to collect for me!

    Are You A Brand Loyalist?

Definitely Fender (and by association G&L and MusicMan) for me - love the look, sound, feel and history of the whole thing. It's probably like an allegiance to a particular car or motorcycle brand if that was my thing.

Songs That Producers Totally Messed Up..

That was going to be my suggestion. I guess it has its own charm after all these years, but it's a mess (not necessarily in a good way) - to me anyway.

What causes flabby strings on basses besides tension?

The E string on my L2000 was doing this for a long time. I realised that I had earlier tried to set the neck up myself and had tightened the truss rod quite a bit. The other night I loosened it a bit and re-wound all the strings to get a better break angle at the nut. Seems to have fixed it.

    '70s Fender Precision love

Thanks for that guys, I'll call it the TV logo from now on.:)

    '70s Fender Precision love

HI, re the 'TV logo', I've got a MIJ 70s RI with that logo (in my avatar). I love it too, to the point where I'd be swayed on which p-bass to buy (superficial I know, but can't help it!). I haven't heard it called the TV logo before - I thought it was the 'waterslide', or is that the later 70s...

New Fender Mexi Deluxe? Looks like a steal!

What the jazz neck on a p-bass? Dealbreaker for me

    Opinions on G&L L2000 Tribute?

They're awesome. More tonal options than you're likely to need and sound great passive too. Mine's an 02 model so I think it was made in Korea not Indonesia as they are now. I think it differs from the current ones in that the body is a touch thicker and the nut is wider at 44.45mm (I think it's...

The Pinkie....to use or not to use?

I've got a slightly different problem. I'm self taught and only recently realised I should be using it. So i have developed it and it's fine, but now I'm often confused about which to use and will unintentionally alternate between the two. I've got long fingers so can easily do octaves with my...

Buy a Precision and get off my lawn.

I really don't need to be seeing this! I've just decided (well, pretty much) to sell my MIJ P-bass to fund a better amp, leaving me with my beautiful G&L Tribute L2000 (but it's not a p-bass:crying:)

    basswood vs. poplar

I think agathis and pine are pretty much the same thing, aren't they?

Do your basses have sentimental value to you?

I'm a little bit attached to my first bass, an Aria Pro II Cat bass from about '86 purchased in about '91. Well made and reliable but worth nothing so I guess I'll hang on to it and fix it up a little when I get the time.

    G&L Tribute L2000 Opinions

I have a sunburst one. I was supposed to sell it to finance the MIM p-bass in my avatar but my wife appears to have forgotten (so I think I will too). They are awesome - very well made with quality hardware and huge sound. I have big hands so the beefy neck suits me. I can't see how you could...

Saw the Wailers last night, NO FAMILY MAN BARRETT!!!

Sorry to hear that. I saw the Wailers here in Sydney about 12 yrs ago with Family Man and it was great. I agree Lee Perry can be hit and miss. I saw him in Sydney in the late 90s and he had Mad Professor's house band backing him and it was awesome (bass was so loud I nearly threw up as it...
