I've been looking at some smaller cabs for my CL as well. I generally use a 610HLF but had been considering something smaller for gigs where I don't feel like hauling it. Specifically, I have been looking at an Avatar Neo 2x10. Its rated at 600w ay 4ohm. Anyone have experience with this setup...
Funny thing is, a few years ago I actually tried to get this band going. Just as a joke to amuse myself. Came up with Toddler Taxidermy because the name Coathanger Abortion was already spoken for. As you can imagine, nobody wanted a thing to do with it. And yes... I spent way too much time...
I honestly have met some great fellow musicians/bandmates just by going out to local gigs and schmoozing. Thats actually how I met several guys in my current band. Never had any luck on Craigslist or other sites.
I also have a Modern Player Tele, and it is definitely the springs. Mine had the same issue when it arrived. Like Georgestrings said, just futz with 'em until it goes away.
I guess this comment confuses me. He is looking for opinions and options based on other peoples experiences with different pickups. Are we just supposed to have one single "qualified" member answer questions such as this? I actually chose the pickups that I did based on what input was provided...
Well, since he is a friend you should probably inform him of this at the very least. If this happens to a customer, they will not be as forgiving as you had been. You would be doing him a disservice by not letting him know as he is trying to build a reputation at a new shop just my ¢.02. Now...
Call me crazy, but I guess I never really saw Social D as being a "punk" band. I know that is the label that they typically get, but as far as the music goes, I just don't see it. And for the record, I'm a pretty big fan.
I put two Duncan Vintage pickups in my Geddy. The stock pickups were extremely noisy even after a full shielding. Just happened to find a good deal on the Duncans at a local shop. IMO, they sound great. I wouldn't call them "aggressive" by any means, but I play everything from country to hard...
