Yes, having played for many years with many different basses, the first time I ever heard of neck dive was on here.... where apparently it is the "most important thing" about a bass. And maybe it is for some people, I mean no offence. I'm just relieved to find at least one more person who...

Personal preference, but I prefer being able to change my tone directly from on the bass and in particular being able to get 3 main different EQ settings; 1) flat, 2) rolled off treble and 3) scooped mids (with small treble and bass boost). And to do that, I need 3 band. Of course there are...

Just a little picture of my two Maruszczyk basses for anyone who is interested... really happy with them both...

I was exactly the same - poplar burl seems to have a lot of variation - some that suits my taste and others that don't. Luckily Adrian and the team have a good approach to this in my opinion. Somewhere in the small print of the configurator it mentions that you can pay an additional fee (50...

Here's the sofa shot for the new one (second one). I should have realised at the start that this would would be addictive! I'm happy with how it looks and looking forwards to getting to play it in a few days. Some quick specs for those who are interested: Elwood 5 - 33in - 16.5mm spacing -...

In case it helps to know... I've got a 33in 5 string [E-C] Sputnik, with rods, katalox fretboard, with a head on the neck. Quite recent build. I also find the truss rod is very responsive - it needs very little adjustment to see the results on the neck.

No worries :) ... and yes, loving everything about the bass. I think I mentioned before that for the stuff I'm playing at the moment, I've got two main sounds that I want and can get nicely from the pickups and preamp. I've still not got the 400/800Hz switch hooked up, but am not missing it at...

I decided against strap locks too. I checked out the options but wasn't actually convinced by the designs (I'm sure they work fine, but just didn't appeal to me). Turns out that the standard strap "button" is very wide at the wide part and takes me a good 5 seconds or more to get my strap on...

In case it helps to know, I've got a 33in scale Sputnik and it will balance nicely anywhere between horizontal and maybe 60 degree incline when standing and not holding the bass. Not sure if strap material or (my) body shape contribute to that, but that's my experience at least. And such a nice...

I'm sure you've seen a lot more basses than me given your profession so I'll trust you there. But... you can only buy the OBP3 in kits that have either a push pull mid pot or a toggle switch. You have to actively remove part of the kit Yeah, that's what Adrian told me as well, so I thought it...

I don't know to be honest, sorry. I hadn't seen that mentioned and haven't needed to adjust it myself yet so really don't know. The adjustment process doesn't look drastically different to many other modern bridges though. I'll be putting on some new strings relatively soon so can have a better...

Nice... I think 32 is a good choice as well - I'm sure you'll love it! I like the sound of the Aguilar pickups and electronics personally. I had a listen to almost all the videos on the Public Peace youtube channel and that was the combination that (along with the Sputnik) that was most...

Hello all Just making a short introduction here as a new owner of a Maruszczyk Sputnik 5. The bass arrived this week and I'm currently fine tuning the set up as it settles down from the transport and in general as a new build. It seems very promising so far. Also getting the fingers and brain...

Sire V7 - are they really THAT good?

From Thomann in Germany. The set up was quite reasonable, but required some adjustments to get rid of fret buzz which was present on all 4 strings. No problems with the service from Thomann I would say, although if the guitar had been set up to remove the fret buzz, then the buzz from the nut...

Yeah, I did that too... unfortunately didn't help this issue in my case.
