I just use the little plastic things you twist onto your strap buttons... Maybe they're a bit of a cheap crappy solution but i've had the same ones on for a couple of years and they havn't let me down.

This is how i'm currently getting my tone. I'm using the SansAmp setting with 0 gain, eliminating the distortion but providing a nice punch on the attack without needing much treble. Turning the gain down to 0 results in a slight loss of volume so I used the Compressor setting to boost the level...
