Let's be honest here, there are so many variables to Chris' sound that replicating it exactly is almost impossible. even if you buy every pedal he uses, they wont necessarily sound the same through your amp, your bass, strings you're using, mics, even your fingers, etc. etc... if you're playing...

It depends if you want to copy his live tone or studio tone. last I heard, he was only using a zvex mastotron with his clean signal blended in for his live tone. now studio, THERE is where we start going into keyboard synths and deep impacts and octave pedals and clean blend etc. etc. all this...

I thought Chris said it was a synth in studio and live he would try to recreate the sound with his custom made double neck Kitara/bass?

Honestly, the "dubstep" part wasn't as bad as people made it seem with all the negative comments. It was a 30 second clip, at the very least wait until the whole album comes out to make a proper judgement.

It's during the intro bit before it all kicks off. Also, according to Shane Goodwin, it's also used during Hysteria, but I don't really hear it myself.
