    Peavey TNT 100

The old Peavey combos are really great for the price, for 90 bucks you can't lose. My practice amp in the early 90's was a TKO 80 and it was one tough amp. It probably is still working for some bassist out there.

Shop damaged my bass a bit =\

It amazes me that so many "pro" shops do such crappy work. A friend of mine had some work done and by using the wrong size screwdriver they tore up 2 screws. Using the correct tool for the job is a given I would think? Now I do understand that most shops are top notch but it seems the hacks...

Excellent video Will, very in depth but still with so many different nuances with this pedal there is so much more that can be done with it. I love pedals and am always picking up things used and before I tried any SA stuff it had been about 4 years since I bought a pedal new. Now I the past...

Which strings for a short scale Squire Mustang?

If you go with D'Addario Chromes you may not want to go with the short scale set unless you feel like trimming some silk. I just used these on my Musicmaster bass and it too strings thru the body which made these strings come up a bit short. For a bass that strings thru the bridge these would be...

    Madbean PCBs

I have ordered a few pcb's from Haberdasher and they were top notch quality and he got them out quick. He offers a lot of fun pedals to build.

Do you use the effects loop or old school?

One of these days I want to get a bass amp with an effects loop. My bass amps are old Kustoms with no loop but running pedals in a direct chain has presented no probs for me so far.

    NBD: 1960 Silvertone U1

Great looking Dano bass. I really wish you could find these basses as easily as the guitars. I own 2 vintage Danos and they are so sweet sounding and actually play very nice.

    Reverb?

Most of the time I like a subtle amount of reverb on bass just to fill out the sound a bit. Then less often it is nice to be able to go a little farther out there and get the great wash of sound going. It is nice to have pedals that can take you both places, the EHX Cathedral was my go to...

I got a MW Distortion a month ago and it has become my favorite dirt pedal. So many cool sounds in this box, not as over the top as my Second Voice but still super cool. So just last week I sprang for a Dimension Reverb and this thing is so good. It does the classics spot on and does whack city...

Who has never owned a bass that cost more than $800?

Now that I think on it the most I ever spent on a bass was 300 bucks for a 70's Fender Musicmaster bass. I love cheap basses, with a bit of time and work most cheapies can be made into great players.

    Underrated Masterpieces

THIS One of the most bombastic and beautiful LP's ever recorded. I do wish I could have seen them live. The Stranglers "Rattus Norvegicus" is in my opinion a masterpiece that is vastly overlooked.

    Great New Pickup Idea!

I never thought of this. A lot of the old Dearmond pu's are really thin, Hershey Bar and the Kay Pancakes are under 1/2" and although they do vary, some have real hot outputs. The concern though would be if they are long enough. Two of them could be split staggered though. I have 2 right now...

What did you do with your first bass?

My first bass was a mid 80's Kramer Striker that I sold to my best friend and he, surprisingly, still owns it. My second bass was a Yamaha BB 300 which I smashed when I threw it on the floor when I broke a string halfway through a gig.
