I love my L5Ks. I've never found a better sounding 5 string bass. I find the string spacing fine. It just takes a bit of getting used to. That purple sparkle sure is nice too. Jamie

I tried a US L2500 and a Tribute in a shop about 12 months ago. They both sounded good and I had a slight preference for the Tribute in terms of sound (both played through the same amp with a flat eq. However, I didn't hear anything that would make me want to give up either my L5000s or L5500...

I'd like to see how a true Fender P Bass 5 string plays and sounds. I love G&L L5000s which have a great P bass sound in a five string but some people find the strings to close together (not an issue for me). Jamie

Ironically, the same money in Australia will buy you a nice American L2500 at a shop. So it probably was reasonably priced in that respect. Jamie

It certainly is a genuine L-5000. It plays beautifully and was worth every cent. Like it was under a bed for 20 years. Cheers, Jamie

Glad you didn't have to get rid of the Ibanez. I have one as well and have been lucky enough to be able to keep every bass I've ever bought. The SR506 I bought was the first brand new bass I ever bought and it was my main bass for a long, long time until I got a 2nd hand G&L L-5000. Now I know...
