    NBD, Fender Ultra Jazz.

I adore my Ultra.. Also got the Texas Tea. Lots of controls compared to some of my other basses, but so far, I have got everything one of my favorite sounds out of this guitar.

Fender American original or Fender Vintera

If I may, I own both a Vintera J-Bass (60's firemist gold) and an Ultra J-Bass. I love them both. The Vintera is fantastic. Better than one of my basses of a different brand that cost much more. Fender always does a great job. And I challenge any of you to try out my 1993 Fender P-Bass Lyte...

    Try a leather pick.

That's a fantastic idea! I like picks sometimes, but you lose the "thump" and texture of fingering. A leather pick could very well be the best of both worlds!

I'm starting to hate my bass

'Best' Year For Fender Jazz Bass

My first bass was a Squire from 1989. I recently picked up a Vintera and liked it so much that I have ordered a 2020 Ultra. Waiting for it to come it so I can see what the newbies are like.

Do you have the one that could be, your ONLY one?

    1. I don't play favorites. 2. Everyone knows I can't just have one.

    Paul McCartney and his Basses

I started out as a jazz bassist in high school. I picked up the bass because I could read bass clef, and it was the only instrument that wasn't filled at the time. So I began lessons the summer before starting out on a Fender Squire that I played into the ground. By my senior year, I had...
