    Why not use real music? Random notes three hours daily is going to make you go nuts. And you will probably loose interest in it after a while. Bach (start with e.g the inventions) will make you a better human being.

    They are very high tension indeed. But they do work very well with very low action. Thats because of the high tension i guess. That way they are very easy to play imo.

    They last a lot longer than rounds. What i should have written is...: After some time e.g Labellas gets better. Rotos gets worse..imo. More like rounds i guess. Anyways Rotos are great strings. Nothing sounds like em.

    Rotos are bright. And punchy. One of my favourite strings. The downside is that they dont stay bright very long and imo they dont sound very good when they loose that zing.

    As a fifth player myself i do not share your view on that. Many advantages with that tuning, but less position shifts is not one of them.

    Tune your bass CGDA and work on e.g the cello suites. String gauges that i use is: 35,65,95 and 130. Fifth tuning on bass is lots of fun.

    Saw him last week at the Pompeii gig. The sound was fantastic. Imo Pratt sounded best when playing his pbass. With a pick. Also great Rickenbacker sound on One of these days.

    Thank you all! I have been in contact with two teachers and both of them charged 100$ for a lesson. To me that is a lot. Is it really that expencive in NY?

    Effects experts: Bass synth issue

    I play in a cover band like yours. M Jackson, Madonna etc. I gave up the electric on those songs. Buy a Bass station or Moog. Sounds better and its a lot of fun to play bass on a synth. I play 70% electric and 30% synth.
